Subtask 49-23-51-860-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.
(2) Put a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(3) Make sure that ground fire extinguishing equipment is available.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
Subtask 49-23-51-865-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.

B. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2) Open the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the on position.
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2) Open the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the on position.
Subtask 49-23-51-710-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Test of the Inlet Guide Vane (IGV) mechanism (IGV Actuator installed)
(1) Pull the IGV mechanism manually to the OPEN position.
(2) Disconnect the quick-disconnect pin from the clevis of the IGV rod.
(3) Push the IGV mechanism manually back to the CLOSED position.
(5) Put the quick-disconnect pin back to the clevis of the IGV rod.
(6) Measure the load necessary to pull the IGV mechanism back to the OPEN position.
Make sure that the maximum load is not more than 11.3 daN (25.4034 lbf).
(a) If the measured load is lower than the maximum load:
Subtask 49-23-51-710-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Pull the IGV mechanism manually to the OPEN position.
(2) Disconnect the quick-disconnect pin from the clevis of the IGV rod.
(3) Push the IGV mechanism manually back to the CLOSED position.
NOTE: A sign of a serviceable IGV mechanism is a smooth and easy movement of the IGV rod.
(4) Engage the DEVICE - AXIAL-SCALE MEASURING through the ring of the quick-disconnect pin. (5) Put the quick-disconnect pin back to the clevis of the IGV rod.
(6) Measure the load necessary to pull the IGV mechanism back to the OPEN position.
Make sure that the maximum load is not more than 11.3 daN (25.4034 lbf).
(a) If the measured load is lower than the maximum load:
- IGV mechanism is serviceable.
- remove the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-11-11-000-003).
B. Test of the Inlet Guide Vane (IGV) mechanism (IGV Actuator removed)
(1) Remove the IGV Actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 49-23-51-000-003).
(2) Push the IGV mechanism manually back to the CLOSED position.
(3) Engage the DEVICE - AXIAL-SCALE MEASURING through the ring of the quick-disconnect pin.
(4) Put the quick-disconnect pin back to the clevis of the IGV rod.
(5) Measure the load necessary to pull the IGV mechanism back to the OPEN position.
Make sure that the maximum load is not more than 9.8 daN (22.0313 lbf).
(a) If the measured load is lower than the maximum load:
5. Close-up(1) Remove the IGV Actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 49-23-51-000-003).
(2) Push the IGV mechanism manually back to the CLOSED position.
(3) Engage the DEVICE - AXIAL-SCALE MEASURING through the ring of the quick-disconnect pin.
(4) Put the quick-disconnect pin back to the clevis of the IGV rod.
(5) Measure the load necessary to pull the IGV mechanism back to the OPEN position.
Make sure that the maximum load is not more than 9.8 daN (22.0313 lbf).
(a) If the measured load is lower than the maximum load:
- IGV mechanism is serviceable.
- remove the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-11-11-000-003).
Subtask 49-23-51-410-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the off position.
(3) Close the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
Subtask 49-23-51-860-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the off position.
(3) Close the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
