C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
   (2) Open the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
   (3) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the on position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 49-23-51-710-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Test of the Inlet Guide Vane (IGV) mechanism (IGV Actuator installed)
   (1) Pull the IGV mechanism manually to the OPEN position.
   (2) Disconnect the quick-disconnect pin from the clevis of the IGV rod.
   (3) Push the IGV mechanism manually back to the CLOSED position.
NOTE: A sign of a serviceable IGV mechanism is a smooth and easy movement of the IGV rod.
   (4) Engage the DEVICE - AXIAL-SCALE MEASURING through the ring of the quick-disconnect pin.
   (5) Put the quick-disconnect pin back to the clevis of the IGV rod.
   (6) Measure the load necessary to pull the IGV mechanism back to the OPEN position.
Make sure that the maximum load is not more than 11.3 daN (25.4034 lbf).
     (a) If the measured load is lower than the maximum load:
  • IGV mechanism is serviceable.
     (b) If the measured load is higher than the maximum load:
Subtask 49-23-51-710-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Test of the Inlet Guide Vane (IGV) mechanism (IGV Actuator removed)
   (1) Remove the IGV Actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 49-23-51-000-003).
   (2) Push the IGV mechanism manually back to the CLOSED position.
   (3) Engage the DEVICE - AXIAL-SCALE MEASURING through the ring of the quick-disconnect pin.
   (4) Put the quick-disconnect pin back to the clevis of the IGV rod.
   (5) Measure the load necessary to pull the IGV mechanism back to the OPEN position.
Make sure that the maximum load is not more than 9.8 daN (22.0313 lbf).
     (a) If the measured load is lower than the maximum load:
  • IGV mechanism is serviceable.
     (b) If the measured load is higher than the maximum load:
   (6) Install the IGV Actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 49-23-51-400-003).
5. Close-up
