A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw is set to the OFF position.
(3) Put a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the APU compartment.
(2) Open the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3) Set the LIGHT SW 11LJ to the ON position.

4. Procedure

WARNING: AFTER THE DIFFUSER IS REMOVED, CAREFULLY SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE APU DOOR. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY, IT CAN FALL AND BECOME DAMAGED, OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

A. Removal of the Air Intake Diffuser and Elbow

Air Intake Diffuser and Elbow ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Remove the screw (19), the washer (18) and disconnect the bonding strap (17).
(2) Disconnect the drain hoses (16) from the drain lines.
(3) Hold the diffuser (20) and elbow assembly (26).
(4) Remove and discard the cotter pin (25).
(5) Remove the castle nut (24), the washer (23) and the bolt (21). Move the tie-rod (22) out of the diffuser (20) and elbow assembly (26).
(6) Remove and discard the cotter pin (11).
(7) Remove the castle nut (12), the washer (10) and the bolt (15).
(8) Push the diffuser (20) and elbow assembly (26) rearwards and remove it from the fitting (9).
