A. Removal of the HP Bleed Valve Closure Control Solenoid (4029KS)
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in the ambient conditions.
(4) Remove the nut (10), the bolt (8) and the washer (7) which attach the clips (9).
(5) Disconnect the air tubes.
(7) Disconnect the tube (2) from the solenoid valve (15).
(8) Disconnect the tube (1) from the solenoid valve (15).
(9) Disconnect the union (11) from the tee-piece.
(10) Remove the tube (1).
(12) Remove the three bolts (14) and the three washers (13) that attach the solenoid valve (15) to the mounting bracket.
(13) Remove the solenoid valve (15).
(14) Install the caps on all the openings.
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
- For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in the ambient conditions.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
(3) Remove the nut (6), the bolt (3) and the washer (4) which attach the clip (5) to the lug. (4) Remove the nut (10), the bolt (8) and the washer (7) which attach the clips (9).
(5) Disconnect the air tubes.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(6) Cut and remove the lockwire that safeties the union nuts on the tube (2) and at the two ends of the tube (1). (7) Disconnect the tube (2) from the solenoid valve (15).
(8) Disconnect the tube (1) from the solenoid valve (15).
(9) Disconnect the union (11) from the tee-piece.
(10) Remove the tube (1).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(11) Disconnect the electrical connector (12) from the solenoid valve (15). (12) Remove the three bolts (14) and the three washers (13) that attach the solenoid valve (15) to the mounting bracket.
