B. Inspection of the IP Bleed Check-Valve
(1) Do the inspection of the IP bleed check-valve that has the return spring(s) as follows:
(a) Make sure that the IP bleed check-valve is in the correct condition.
(b) Specially make sure that the flappers, their seats, hinge pin and return springs of the flappers are in the correct condition.
(c) Make sure that there are no cracks, bosses, dents, corrosion or frictional wear:
1 Make sure that there are no missing parts:
a If you find the missing parts:
1 Install the end of the GAGE - SPRING on the middle point of the rim of the flapper.
2 Apply a force of 0 lbf (0.00 daN) to 1.34 lbf (0.60 daN) through a displacement angle of 0 deg (0 deg) to 20 deg (20 deg) on the flappers.
3 Make sure that the flappers move to the closed position:
(a) Make sure that the IP bleed check-valve is in the correct condition.
(b) Specially make sure that the flappers, their seats and the hinge pin are in the correct condition.
(c) Make sure that there are no cracks, bosses, dents, corrosion or frictional wear.
(d) Make sure that the flappers move freely to the closed position.
(e) Make sure that the flappers close fully by their weight.
(f) Do a detailed inspection of the IP bleed check-valve:
1 If you find missing parts:

(b) Specially make sure that the flappers, their seats, hinge pin and return springs of the flappers are in the correct condition.
(c) Make sure that there are no cracks, bosses, dents, corrosion or frictional wear:
1 Make sure that there are no missing parts:
a If you find the missing parts:
- Replace the IP bleed check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-000-040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-400-041).
- Do an inspection at the hot-air inlet manifold of the engine bleed pre-cooler:
* Examine the hot-air inlet manifold for nicks, cracks, dents or foreign object damage. - Do a visual inspection of the starter for foreign object damage (Ref. AMM TASK 80-11-10-210-002).
- If the flappers do not move to the closed position, reject the valve.
- Replace the IP bleed check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-000-040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-400-041).

* Examine the hot-air inlet manifold for nicks, cracks, dents or foreign object damage. - Do a visual inspection of the starter for foreign object damage (Ref. AMM TASK 80-11-10-210-002).
- Use the GAGE - 1,2 MM (0,047) - FEELER and make sure that the clearance A between the bushings of the flap (1) and the bushing (2) is less than 1.2 mm (0.05 in.).
NOTE: On in-service aircraft, the bushings become worn because of cycles and vibration. A clearance of less than 1.2 mm (0.05 in.) prevents too much wear on the bushings before the next check.
- If the clearance A between the bushings of the flap (1) and the bushing (2) is out of the limits, replace the IP bleed check-valve.
