A. Safety Precautions
   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On panel 400VU:
  • Make sure that the landing-gear control lever is in the DOWN position.
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the ground service connection to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system has been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (2) Operate the brake pedals until the pressure in the brake accumulator of the Yellow hydraulic system is at zero.

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the applicable false rear spar, at zone 571 (671).
   (2) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the applicable alternate-brake manifold.
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-43-32-440-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Reactivation of the Alternate-Brake Manifold Safety-Valve
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
   (1) Remove and discard the lockwire from the reactivation plug (1).
   (2) Slowly loosen the reactivation plug (1) to release the hydraulic pressure.
NOTE: Do not loosen the reactivation plug (1) more than 2.5 turns.
   (3) Make sure that the seal (2) is correctly installed on the reactivation plug (1).
   (4) Tighten the reactivation plug (1) and torque it to between 4.0 and 3.85 m.daN (29.50 and 28.39 lbf.ft ) T.
   (5) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.
14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to remove unwanted hydraulic fluid from:
  • the alternate-brake manifold and the adjacent area.
   (6) Safety the reactivation plug (1) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.

B. Bleed the Brake System
   (1) Bleed the alternate brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-870-002).

C. Test
   (1) Do an operational test of the alternate brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-710-001).
   (2) Make sure that there are no hydraulic leaks at the reactivation plug (1).
5. Close-up

A. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIERS.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
