Removal of the Swivel Bearing
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

PRESSURIZE ONLY THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM(S) THAT IS (ARE) NECESSARY FOR THE TASK. ISOLATE THE OTHER HYDRAULIC SYSTEM(S) BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT.

A. Get Access
(1) Remove the NLG leg assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-11-000-003).
(2) Open access doors 812, 822 and 824 to get access to the hinge points of the NLG (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position in zone 123.
(4) If necessary, remove the avionics-equipment ventilation-duct (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Remove the NLG leg assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-11-000-003).
(2) Open access doors 812, 822 and 824 to get access to the hinge points of the NLG (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position in zone 123.
(4) If necessary, remove the avionics-equipment ventilation-duct (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-000-001).
Subtask 32-21-24-020-052-A
A. Removal of the Swivel Bearing
(2) Remove the nuts (8), the washers (6) and the bolts (1).
(3) Remove the protective cover (5).
(4) Remove and discard the O-rings (3) and (4).
(5) Remove the swivel bearing (2).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(1) Remove and discard the cotter pins (7).(2) Remove the nuts (8), the washers (6) and the bolts (1).
(3) Remove the protective cover (5).
(4) Remove and discard the O-rings (3) and (4).
(5) Remove the swivel bearing (2).
