A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
(2) Make sure that the doors of the nose landing gear are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).

Subtask 32-21-18-110-051-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the removed components with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and dry the components with dry filtered compressed air.
(2) Apply a light coat of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the threads of all the nuts, screws, bolts and pins.
(3) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) to the threaded fasteners.
Subtask 32-21-18-080-050-A (1) Clean the removed components with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and dry the components with dry filtered compressed air.

NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
B. Removal of the Washers Spacers (M46789)
(1) Cut and remove the cotter pins (8) and (9).
(2) Remove the nuts (7) and (10).
(3) Remove the washers (6) and (11).
(4) Remove the M46789 SPACER-WASHER.
(5) Remove the washers (3) and (4).
Subtask 32-21-18-420-054-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Cut and remove the cotter pins (8) and (9).
(2) Remove the nuts (7) and (10).
(3) Remove the washers (6) and (11).
(4) Remove the M46789 SPACER-WASHER.
(5) Remove the washers (3) and (4).
C. Installation of one NLG Lock Spring
(1) Install the M21929 TENSIONING FIXTURE on the spring (5).
(2) Put the spring (5) in position with the coil at the bottom part and install the washer (4) on the pin (2).
(3) Measure the clearance and use the applicable AIPC 32-21-17-02-040 ADJUSTMENT WASHER (3) to get the clearance : J1 = between 0.05 mm (0.0020 in.) and 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.).
(5) TORQUE the nut (7) to between 0.95 and 0.8 m.daN (84.07 and 70.80 lbf.in )

(7) Install the spring (5).
(8) Install the washer (11).
(9) Install the nut (10) and TORQUE to between 0.95 and 0.8 m.daN (84.07 and 70.80 lbf.in )

(10) Install a new AIPC 32-21-11-42-010 COTTER PIN (9) or AIPC 32-21-11-62-010 COTTER PIN (9) or AIPC 32-21-11-82-010 COTTER PIN (9).
(11) Remove the M21929 TENSIONING FIXTURE from the spring (5).
(12) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on the zones E.
Subtask 32-21-18-420-054-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the M21929 TENSIONING FIXTURE on the spring (5).
(2) Put the spring (5) in position with the coil at the bottom part and install the washer (4) on the pin (2).
(3) Measure the clearance and use the applicable AIPC 32-21-17-02-040 ADJUSTMENT WASHER (3) to get the clearance : J1 = between 0.05 mm (0.0020 in.) and 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.).
NOTE: You must use between one and three adjustment washers (3).
(4) Install the the washer (6) and the nut (7). (5) TORQUE the nut (7) to between 0.95 and 0.8 m.daN (84.07 and 70.80 lbf.in )
. NOTE: Put a wrench on the flats of the shoulder of the pin (2) to prevent movement.
(6) Install a new AIPC 32-21-17-02-010 COTTER PIN (8). (7) Install the spring (5).
(8) Install the washer (11).
(9) Install the nut (10) and TORQUE to between 0.95 and 0.8 m.daN (84.07 and 70.80 lbf.in )
. (10) Install a new AIPC 32-21-11-42-010 COTTER PIN (9) or AIPC 32-21-11-62-010 COTTER PIN (9) or AIPC 32-21-11-82-010 COTTER PIN (9).
(11) Remove the M21929 TENSIONING FIXTURE from the spring (5).
(12) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on the zones E.
C. Installation of one NLG Lock Spring
(1) Install the M21929 TENSIONING FIXTURE on the spring (5).
(2) Put the spring (5) in position with the coil at the bottom part and install the washer (4) on the pin (2).
(3) Measure the clearance and use the applicable AIPC 32-21-17-02-040 ADJUSTMENT WASHER (3) to get the clearance : J1 = between 0.05 mm (0.0020 in.) and 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.).
(5) TORQUE the nut (7) to between 0.95 and 0.8 m.daN (84.07 and 70.80 lbf.in )

(7) Install the spring (5).
(8) Install the washer (11).
(9) Install the nut (10) and TORQUE to between 0.95 and 0.8 m.daN (84.07 and 70.80 lbf.in )

(10) Install a new AIPC 32-21-11-42-010 COTTER PIN (9) or AIPC 32-21-11-22-010 COTTER PIN (9).
(11) Remove the M21929 TENSIONING FIXTURE from the spring (5).
(12) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on the zones E.
5. Close-up(1) Install the M21929 TENSIONING FIXTURE on the spring (5).
(2) Put the spring (5) in position with the coil at the bottom part and install the washer (4) on the pin (2).
(3) Measure the clearance and use the applicable AIPC 32-21-17-02-040 ADJUSTMENT WASHER (3) to get the clearance : J1 = between 0.05 mm (0.0020 in.) and 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.).
NOTE: You must use between one and three adjustment washers (3).
(4) Install the the washer (6) and the nut (7). (5) TORQUE the nut (7) to between 0.95 and 0.8 m.daN (84.07 and 70.80 lbf.in )

(11) Remove the M21929 TENSIONING FIXTURE from the spring (5).
(12) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on the zones E.

A. Get Access
(1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close the doors of the nose landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
