Detailed Inspection of the Torque-Link Center Hinge-Pin
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

1. Reason for the JobNOTE: This task is only applicable for the NLG with the lock plate on the torque-link center hinge-pin.
For the NLG without the lock plate on the torque-link center hinge-pin, refer to TASK 32-21-00-200-803-A.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear or the landing gear doors.
(3) Make sure that the D23080000 PIN-GROUND LOCK,NLG or the MZ23080000 PIN-LOCKING is in position (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
Subtask 32-21-00-020-055-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear or the landing gear doors.
(3) Make sure that the D23080000 PIN-GROUND LOCK,NLG or the MZ23080000 PIN-LOCKING is in position (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
B. Removal of Component
(1) Remove the torque-link-center hinge-pin (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-27-000-002).
4. Procedure(1) Remove the torque-link-center hinge-pin (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-27-000-002).
Subtask 32-21-00-220-075-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Detailed Inspection of the Torque-Link Center Hinge-Pin
(1) If the torque-link center hinge-pin is bent:
(a) Install the new torque-link center hinge-pin (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-27-400-002).
(2) If the torque-link center hinge-pin is not bent:
(a) Clean the torque-link center hinge-pin with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) and dry it with the AIR SOURCE FILTERED, DRY.
(b) Clean all the threads and splines. Make sure that there is no grease at the thread/spline root level.
(c) Carefully examine the torque-link center hinge-pin for cracks.
1 If you find cracks:
a Install the new torque-link center hinge-pin (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-27-400-002).
(d) Carefully examine the threads and the splines of the torque-link center hinge-pin and the threads of the nut for damage and corrosion.
1 If you find damage or corrosion:
a Install the new torque-link center hinge-pin and the nut (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-27-400-002).
5. Close-up(1) If the torque-link center hinge-pin is bent:
(a) Install the new torque-link center hinge-pin (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-27-400-002).
(2) If the torque-link center hinge-pin is not bent:
(a) Clean the torque-link center hinge-pin with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) and dry it with the AIR SOURCE FILTERED, DRY.
(b) Clean all the threads and splines. Make sure that there is no grease at the thread/spline root level.
(c) Carefully examine the torque-link center hinge-pin for cracks.
1 If you find cracks:
a Install the new torque-link center hinge-pin (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-27-400-002).
(d) Carefully examine the threads and the splines of the torque-link center hinge-pin and the threads of the nut for damage and corrosion.
1 If you find damage or corrosion:
a Install the new torque-link center hinge-pin and the nut (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-27-400-002).
