Servicing of the Rain Repellent System
To remove a rain-repellent fluid can, to flush the system with a cleaning fluid and to install a new rain-repellent fluid can.
This task is used to drain the remaining fluid and to flush the system at the same time.
This task is applicable for systems that are in operation (not disconnected).

WARNING:
THE RAIN REPELLENT FLUID GAGE IS CONSIDERED AS AN ASSEMBLY. THE COMPONENTS OF THIS ASSEMBLY, ESPECIALLY THE PRESSURE GAGE, MUST NOT BE REPLACED ON AIRCRAFT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU DEPRESSURIZE THE RAIN REPELLENT SYSTEM BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE RAIN REPELLENT FLUID-CAN.
RAIN REPELLENT FLUID CAN COME OUT SUDDENLY IF YOU REMOVE THE FLUID CAN WITH THE SYSTEM PRESSURIZED.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.

1. Reason for the JobTo remove a rain-repellent fluid can, to flush the system with a cleaning fluid and to install a new rain-repellent fluid can.
This task is used to drain the remaining fluid and to flush the system at the same time.

C. On the overhead control and indicating panel 21VU and overhead control and indicating panel 22VU, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the rain repellent pushbutton switches.
4. ProcedureSubtask 30-45-00-941-069-A
A. Preparation
(1) Connect a HOSE - DRAIN to the drain valve (5) of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(2) Put the hose outlet in a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
Subtask 30-45-00-870-054-A (1) Connect a HOSE - DRAIN to the drain valve (5) of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(2) Put the hose outlet in a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
B. Depressurization of the System
(2) Make sure that no more rain repellent fluid comes out from the hose outlet.
Subtask 30-45-00-020-057-A CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE HOSE OUTLET IS IN THE CONTAINER.
(1) Push the pushbutton switch (6) to depressurize the system. (2) Make sure that no more rain repellent fluid comes out from the hose outlet.
C. Removal of the Rain-Repellent Fluid Can
(1) Remove the clamp (2).
(2) Loosen and remove the can (1).
(3) Remove and discard the seal (3).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 30-45-00-420-058-A (1) Remove the clamp (2).
(2) Loosen and remove the can (1).
(3) Remove and discard the seal (3).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
D. Installation of the Flush Can
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
(4) Install a new AIPC 30-45-01-06-027 ORING (7) or AIPC 30-45-81-06-060 SEAL (7) into the inlet port of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(5) Install the flush can (9) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-Rain Repellent System remover - - (Material No.08BFA1) on the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(6) Install the clamp (8) on the flush can (9) and tighten it.
Subtask 30-45-00-865-069-A (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
(4) Install a new AIPC 30-45-01-06-027 ORING (7) or AIPC 30-45-81-06-060 SEAL (7) into the inlet port of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(5) Install the flush can (9) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-Rain Repellent System remover - - (Material No.08BFA1) on the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(6) Install the clamp (8) on the flush can (9) and tighten it.
E. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

F. Flush the Rain Repellent System with Cleaning Fluid
(1) Push the RAIN RPLNT pushbutton switches on the overhead control and indicating panels 21VU and 22VU as many times as necessary, until no fluid flows through the spray nozzle.

H. Cleaning of the Windshield
(1) Clean the windshield with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) to remove the remaining fluid.
Subtask 30-45-00-020-059-A (1) Clean the windshield with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) to remove the remaining fluid.
I. Removal of the Flush Can
(1) Remove the clamp (8).
(2) Loosen and remove the flush can (9).
(3) Remove and discard the seal (7).
Subtask 30-45-00-420-059-A (1) Remove the clamp (8).

J. Installation of the New Rain-Repellent Fluid-Can
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3) Install a new AIPC 30-45-01-06-027 SEAL (3) or AIPC 30-45-81-06-060 SEAL (3) into the inlet port of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(4) Put the new rain-repellent fluid-can (1) in position and tighten it with your hand.
Subtask 30-45-00-210-055-A (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3) Install a new AIPC 30-45-01-06-027 SEAL (3) or AIPC 30-45-81-06-060 SEAL (3) into the inlet port of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(4) Put the new rain-repellent fluid-can (1) in position and tighten it with your hand.
NOTE: The assembly instructions are given on the can and on a caution plate near the can.
(5) Install the clamp (2) on the can (1) and tighten it. K. Inspection/Check
(1) Push the pushbutton switch (6) of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(2) Make sure that the fluid level is correct and that the pressure increases to the correct level.
(3) Make sure that there are no leaks.
(4) Disconnect the HOSE - DRAIN from the drain valve (5) of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
Subtask 30-45-00-720-054-A 5. Close-up(1) Push the pushbutton switch (6) of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
(2) Make sure that the fluid level is correct and that the pressure increases to the correct level.
(3) Make sure that there are no leaks.
(4) Disconnect the HOSE - DRAIN from the drain valve (5) of the rain-repellent fluid-gage assembly (4).
