3. Job Set-up
Subtask 30-21-11-941-050-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

E. Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
   (1) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 30-21-11-020-050-A
A. Removal of the Nacelle Anti-Ice (NAI) Pressure Sensors and Sense Lines
   (1) Disconnection of the electrical connector
CAUTION: USE ONLY SOFT-JAW PLIERS. METAL-JAW PLIERS CAN MAKE THE ELECTRICAL CABLE UNSERVICEABLE.
     (a) Use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to disconnect the electrical connector (8) from the forward NAI pressure-sensor (sensor) (7).
   (2) Remove the sensor (7) as follows:
     (a) Remove the two bolts (6) that attach the sensor (7) to the bracket (9).
     (b) Remove the sensor (7) from the nacelle.
   (3) Remove the tube (4) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the coupling nut to disconnect the tube (4) from the sensor (7).
     (b) Loosen the coupling nut to disconnect the tube (4) from the Nacelle Anti-Icing (NAI) duct (2).
     (c) Remove the bolt (3) that attaches the P-clamp (5) to the bracket (1).
     (d) Remove the tube (4) from the nacelle.
   (4) Disconnection of the electrical connector
CAUTION: USE ONLY SOFT-JAW PLIERS. METAL-JAW PLIERS CAN MAKE THE ELECTRICAL CABLE UNSERVICEABLE.
     (a) Use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to disconnect the electrical connector (20) from the aft NAI pressure-sensor (sensor) (11).
   (5) Remove the sensor (11) as follows:
     (a) Remove the two bolts (10) that attach the sensor (11) to the bracket (21).
     (b) Remove the sensor (11) from the nacelle.
   (6) Remove the tube (12) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the coupling nut to disconnect the tube (12) from the sensor (11).
     (b) Loosen the coupling nut to disconnect the tube (12) from the tube (18).
     (c) Remove the bolt (14) that attach the P-clamp (13) to the bracket (19).
     (d) Remove the bolt (15) that attaches the P-clamp (16) to the bracket (17).
     (e) Remove the tube (12) from the nacelle.
   (7) Remove the tube (18) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the coupling nut to disconnect the tube (28) from the tube (18).
     (b) Remove the bolt (26) that attaches the integral bracket on the tube (18) to the bracket (27).
     (c) Remove the bolt (25) that attaches the P-clamp (24) to the bracket (21).
     (d) Remove the bolt (23) that attaches the P-clamp (22) to the bracket (21).
     (e) Remove the tube (18) from the nacelle.
   (8) Remove the tube (28) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the coupling nut to disconnect the tube (40) from the tube (28).
     (b) Remove the bolt (42) that attaches the P-clamp (43) to the bracket (41).
     (c) Remove the tube (28) from the nacelle.
   (9) Remove the tube (40) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the coupling nut to disconnect the tube (49) from the tube (40).
     (b) Remove the bolt (45) that attaches the P-clamp (46) to the bracket (44).
     (c) Remove the bolt (39) that attaches the P-clamp (47) to the bracket (38).
     (d) Remove the tube (40) from the nacelle.
   (10) Remove the tube (49) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the coupling nut to disconnect the tube (49) from the tube (51).
     (b) Remove the bolt (37) that attaches the P-clamp (48) to the bracket (36).
     (c) Remove the tube (49) from the nacelle.
   (11) Remove the tube (51) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the hose clamps (56) and (57) to remove the elbow duct (55) from the valve (82) and High Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control (HPTACC) air manifold (83).
     (b) Loosen the hose clamps (59), (60) and (61) to remove the Low Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control (LPTACC) duct (58).
     (c) Loosen the hose clamps (63), (64) and (65) to remove the wye duct (62).
     (d) Remove the two bolts (67) that attach the LPTACC support bracket (66).
     (e) Remove the bolt (68) that attaches the LPTACC support bracket (66).
     (f) Remove the bolt (69) that attaches the LPTACC support bracket (66).
     (g) Loosen the B-nuts (71) and (72) that attach the drain line (70) to the tube (88) and drain-pylon tube (89).
     (h) Remove the bolt (73) that attaches the P-clamp (74) to the support bracket (75).
     (i) Remove the bolt (76) that attaches the P-clamp (77) to the support bracket (78).
     (j) Remove the bolt (79) that attaches the P-clamp (80) to the support bracket (81).
     (k) Remove the drain line (70) from the engine.
     (l) Loosen the coupling nut to disconnect the tube (54) from the tube (51).
     (m) Remove the bolt (30) that attaches the P-clamp (29) to the bracket (31).
     (n) Remove the bolt (35) that attaches the P-clamp (50) to the bracket (34).
     (o) Remove the bolt (32) that attaches the P-clamp (52) to the bracket (33).
     (p) Remove the tube (51) from the nacelle.
   (12) Remove the tube (54) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the coupling nut to disconnect the tube (54) from the NAI tube (53).
     (b) Remove the tube (54) from the nacelle.
   (13) Install COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, open tubes, open hoses and connectors.
