Removal of the Yellow Leakage-Measurement Solenoid-Valve


WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
1. Reason for the Job
This task is applicable for Aircraft with the Yellow High-Pressure Manifold P/N D29070171 series.
This task is not applicable for Aircraft with the Yellow High-Pressure Manifold P/N 1553A9900 series.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (3) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (4) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).

D. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • In the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel
  • On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
   (2) Put the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) in position below the leakage-measurement solenoid valve (referred to as solenoid valve) to collect the hydraulic fluid.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-19-51-020-052-A
A. Removal of the Solenoid Valve 3150GP
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
   (2) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connector (1) and on the receptacle.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S) IS(ARE) DISCONNECTED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BONDING STRAP(S).
   (3) Remove the nut (2), the washer (3), the bolt (4) and the bonding strap (5) from the solenoid valve (6).
   (4) Hold the solenoid valve (6) and remove the bolts (7) and the washers (8).
   (5) Remove the solenoid valve (6).
   (6) Remove the bobbins (10) and (11) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
   (7) Install a PLUG - BLANKING in the open ports of the manifold and the solenoid valve (6).
   (8) Remove and discard the square-section seals (16) and (21), the O-rings (18) and (19) and the back-up rings (17), (9), (20) and (12).
