Removal of the Filter Element of the Water Separator

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems:

In the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
On the ground service panel of the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems.

(2) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized and put them in the maintenance configuration
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Depressurize the reservoirs of the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4) Put a CONTAINER 2 L (0.53 USGAL) below the water separator.
(5) Drain the fluid from the water separator into the container.
(6) Remove the container.

4. Procedure
Subtask 29-14-42-020-051-B

A. Removal of the Filter Element of the Water Separator
(1) Hold the water separator (3) and remove the bolts (4).
(2) Remove the water separator (3) from the reservoir pressurization unit (2).
(3) Remove the packings (5) and (6).
(4) Remove the filter element (7) with the packing (8).
(5) Install a PLUG - BLANKING in the water separator (3) and the reservoir pressurization unit (2).
(6) Do a check for the condition of the packings (5), (6) and (8). If necessary replace them.
