Removal of the Engine 2 Hydraulic Suction-Hose


WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-13-49-860-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-864-001)
   (2) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • on the ground service panel 198CB.
   (4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occured not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
   (4) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
   (5) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the suction-hose adapter connection to the hydraulic pump.

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the left fan cowl door 447AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-49-020-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Engine 2 Hydraulic Suction-Hose
   (1) Disconnect the hose (5) coupling half from the fluid disconnect panel.
   (2) Put COVER - BLANKING on the disconnected hose (5) coupling half and the fluid disconnect panel.
   (3) Disconnect the hose (5) adapter assembly from the hydraulic pump union.
   (4) Put blanking covers on the disconnected hose (5) adapter assembly and the hydraulic pump union.
   (5) Remove the nut (10), the washer (15), the bolt (20) and the clamp band (25) from the center mount-clamp.
   (6) Disconnect the hose (5) from the center mount-clamp insert (30).
   (7) Remove the screw (35) and the clamps (40) and (90) that attach the hose (5) to the filter support-bracket.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE CLAMP. MAKE SURE THAT THE TWO HALF-CUSHIONS STAY ON EACH CLAMP.
   (8) Remove the nuts (45), the washers (50), the screws (35) and the clamps (40).
   (9) Remove the hose (5).
