Removal of the Engine 1 Case-Drain Upper Hose
WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
Subtask 29-11-49-941-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
- on the ground service panel 197CB.
B. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:

(6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the tube (60) connection to the pressure hose (55) to collect the remaining fluid.
Subtask 29-11-49-010-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
- Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
- in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
- make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is OFF.
(6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the tube (60) connection to the pressure hose (55) to collect the remaining fluid.
C. Get Access
(1) Open the left fan-cowl door:
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
Open the door 437AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.
4. Procedure(1) Open the left fan-cowl door:
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
Open the door 437AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.

A. Removal of the Top Case Drain Tube/Hose Assembly
(1) Put a container below the top case drain tube/hose (10) at the hydraulic filter to catch the remaining fluid.
(2) Disconnect the drain tube/hose (10) from the hydraulic filter and let the fluid drain into the container.
(4) Disconnect the drain tube/hose (10) from the fluid disconnect panel at the top of the engine.
(5) Remove the drain tube/hose (10) from the engine.
(6) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the tube/hose (10), the union in the filter assembly, and the fitting on the fluid disconnect panel.
(7) Remove the container from below the hydraulic filter assembly.
(1) Put a container below the top case drain tube/hose (10) at the hydraulic filter to catch the remaining fluid.
(2) Disconnect the drain tube/hose (10) from the hydraulic filter and let the fluid drain into the container.
NOTE: Use a second wrench to hold the union on the filter assembly when you loosen the coupling nut on the drain tube/hose (10).
(3) Remove the bolt (20), the washer (15), and the clamp (5) that attach the drain tube/hose (10) to the engine brackets. (3 locations). (4) Disconnect the drain tube/hose (10) from the fluid disconnect panel at the top of the engine.
(5) Remove the drain tube/hose (10) from the engine.
(6) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the tube/hose (10), the union in the filter assembly, and the fitting on the fluid disconnect panel.
(7) Remove the container from below the hydraulic filter assembly.
