Removal of the Engine 1 Hydraulic Suction-Hose


WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-11-49-860-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • on the ground service panel 197CB.
   (4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
   (4) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
   (5) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the suction-hose adapter connection to the hydraulic pump.

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the left fan-cowl door:
FOR 1000EM1
Open the door 437AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-49-020-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Hydraulic Suction Tube/Hose Assembly
   (1) Put a container below the adapter assembly (15) on the hydraulic pump to catch the remaining hydraulic fluid in the suction hose/tube (20).
   (2) Disconnect the adapter assembly (15) on the suction hose/tube (20) from the hydraulic pump and let the fluid drain into the container.
NOTE: Use a second wrench to hold the union on the hydraulic pump when you loosen the adapter assembly.
   (3) Remove the bolt (35), the washer (40), and nut (45) from the band (25) on the center-mount clamp.
   (4) Open the band (25) of the center-mount clamp and remove the suction hose/tube (20) from the insert (30). Put the band (25) on the insert (30) and install the bolt (35), the washer (40), and the nut (45).
NOTE: The suction tube/hose, the lower pressure hose and the lower case drain hose go through the center-mount clamp.
   (5) Remove the screw (5) and the clamp (10) that attach the suction hose/tube (20) to the hydraulic filter support bracket.
   (6) Remove the screws (5), the washers (55), and the clamps (10) that attach the suction hose/tube (20) to the upper and lower mid support brackets. (Two locations)
   (7) Remove the screw (60), the washer (55), and the clamp (65) that attach the suction hose/tube (20) to the upper support brackets.
   (8) Disconnect the coupling half (50) on the suction hose/tube (20) from the fluid disconnect panel at the top of the engine.
   (9) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the two ends of the hose/tube (20), and the fittings on the hydraulic pump and the fluid disconnect panel.
   (10) Remove the suction hose/tube (20) from the engine.
   (11) Remove the container from below the hydraulic pump.
