A. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE are in position at the access door 822 and at the access door 824.
   (2) Make sure that the access doors 822 and 824 are open.
   (3) On the battery power center 105VU:
  • Make sure that the protective cover is open.

4. Procedure
Subtask 27-93-34-420-050-A
A. Installation of the ELAC
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors (2).
   (4) Install the ELAC (1) on its rack (3).
   (5) Push the ELAC (1) on its rack (3) to connect the electrical connectors (2).
   (6) Engage the nuts (4) on the lugs and tighten them.

NOTE: This procedure is for the ELAC1. For the ELAC2, use the indications between the parentheses.
   (1) Do the procedure to get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST F/CTL page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-006).

2.Push the line key adjacent to the LRU IDENTIFICATION indication.
The LRU IDENTIFICATION page comes into view.
  • For dataloadable ELAC P/N 3945129100, the P/N given on this page is the operational software P/N.
  • For non-dataloadable ELAC P/N 3945128xxx, the P/N given is the full and only ELAC P/N.
   (2) Make sure that the P/N of the ELAC shown on the LRU IDENTIFICATION page agrees with the Airline Configuration Management Document.
     (a) If the P/N is different from the PN(s) given in the Airline Configuration Management Document, replace the ELAC (Ref. AMM TASK 27-93-34-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 27-93-34-400-001).
NOTE: For ELAC P/N 3945129100, Airbus recommends to put (or update) an informative label on the front face of the computer with the P/N of the loaded software. This label is for information only. The procedure to identify the operational software P/N stays the LRU IDENTIFICATION on the MCDU.

C. Do the LRU IDENTIFICATION of the ELAC.
NOTE: This procedure is for the ELAC1. For the ELAC2, use the indications between the parentheses.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE SOFTWARE INSTALLED AGREES WITH THE AIRLINE CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT DOCUMENT. THE SYSTEM OPERATIONAL TEST OR BITE TEST DOES NOT DETECT INCORRECT SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION.
D. Do the operational test of the ELAC (Ref. AMM TASK 27-93-00-710-001).
NOTE: If the airline operates the aircraft in CAT III conditions, do the LAND CAT III capability test (Ref. AMM TASK 22-97-00-710-001).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the protective cover on the battery power center 105VU.
   (3) Tighten the two screws.
   (4) Close the access doors 822 and 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
