Subtask 27-44-57-860-055-A

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration

Rigging Pin of the Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer (THS) Actuator

(1) On the center pedestal, make sure that the pitch-trim control wheel is in the zero position.
(2) Make sure that the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized and put them in the maintenance configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position:

On the center pedestal, on the pitch-trim control wheel, to tell persons not to operate it
On the overhead panel, on the HYD section of HYD/FUEL panel 40VU, to tell persons not to pressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems.

(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below access door 312AR.
(5) Make sure that access door 312AR is open.
(6) Make sure that the 0U190360 PIN-RIGGING,THS ACTUATOR,MECHANICAL INPUT LEVER is in the mechanical input of the THS actuator (1).

4. Procedure
Subtask 27-44-57-910-051-A

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the contact surface of the electronic module with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) .
(2) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) to the face of the electronic module (2) which touches the housing of the Pitch Trim Actuator (PTA) (1).

B. Installation of the Electronic Modules
(1) Carefully put the electronic module (2) in position on the motor assembly (3) and the pitch trim actuator (1).
(2) Attach the electronic module (2) to the motor assembly (3) and the pitch trim actuator (1) with the washers (5) and (7) and the bolts (6) and (8).
(3) TORQUE the bolts (6) and (8) to between 0.37 and 0.3 m.daN (32.74 and 26.55 lbf.in )

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(4) Safety the bolts (6) and (8) with the 14QEB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.6 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.

C. Preparation for the Test
(1) Make sure that the actuator of the Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer (THS) has the correct quantity of oil (Ref. AMM TASK 27-44-51-210-004).
(2) Remove the 0U190360 PIN-RIGGING,THS ACTUATOR,MECHANICAL INPUT LEVER from the mechanical input of the THS actuator.
(3) Make sure that the travel range of the THS actuator and the control surfaces are free.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the access door 312AR.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
