4. Procedure
Subtask 27-21-00-760-050-A
A. Electrical Check
   (1) Make sure that, in the cockpit, the CAPT and F/O pedals are in neutral position.
   (2) Install the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (1) on the normal brake-pedal transmitter-unit (2).
   (3) Disconnect the electrical connector A (5) from the transmitter unit (2).
NOTE: The transmitter unit (9GG) can also have an electrical connector B.
   (4) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line end.
   (5) On the normal brake-pedal transmitter-unit (2), at the receptacle A, apply a stabilized voltage of 10 V +/- 0.1 V with the POWER SUPPLY UNIT as follow:
     (a) Connect the 10 V of the POWER SUPPLY UNIT at pin G ASM 324201.
     (b) Connect the 0 V of the POWER SUPPLY UNIT at pin U ASM 324201.
   (6) On the normal brake pedal transmitter unit (2), at the receptacle A, connect the MULTIMETER 0.002 V TO 20 V, 10 A - MULTIRANGE to control the values that follow:
     (a) For the LH Rod:
  • Between pin A (output+) and pin U (0V) ASM 324201.
     (b) For the RH Rod:
  • Between pin M (output+) and pin U (0V) ASM 324201.
   (7) Make sure that the measured values are in the range 1.57V +/- 0.03V:
     (a) If one or two of the measured values is(are) not in the tolerances:
  • Continue the procedure to do the adjustment of the rod(s).
     (b) If the measured values are in the tolerances:
  • Go to para. 4.C (the adjustment of the rod(s) is not necessary).
Subtask 27-21-00-820-064-A
B. Adjustment of the Rod(s)
   (1) Cut and discard the lockwire of the rod(s) (4) which have to be adjusted.
   (2) Loosen the nuts (3) to adjust the rod(s).
   (3) Adjust the distance between the centers of the rod(s) (4) to get 1.57 +/- 0.03V on the MULTIMETER 0.002 V TO 20 V, 10 A - MULTIRANGE.
   (4) Tighten the nuts (3) and secure the rod(s) (4) with the lockwire.
NOTE: The tightening of the nuts can slightly modify the voltage value.
Do again the adjustment if necessary.
Subtask 27-21-00-760-051-A
C. Electrical tests
   (1) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (1) from the normal brake-pedal transmitter-unit (2) and the WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit.
   (2) Pressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-003).
   (3) On the center pedestal, on the panel 110VU, make sure that the RUD TRIM indicator shows 0.
   (4) Install the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (10) on the bellcrank yaw/brake (see detail B).
   (5) Depressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
   (6) On the CAPT side, fully push the two brake pedals and hold them in this position.
NOTE: This brings the triple bellcranks to "MAX. braking" limit stop position.
   (7) On the MULTIMETER 0.002 V TO 20 V, 10 A - MULTIRANGE, make sure that the cursor output voltages of the L/H rod and the R/H rod are equal to 10V +/- 0.2V.
   (8) On the CAPT side, release the brake pedals.
NOTE: The triple bellcranks go back to "0 braking" limit stop position.
   (9) On the MULTIMETER 0.002 V TO 20 V, 10 A - MULTIRANGE, make sure that the cursor output voltages of the L/H rod and/or the R/H rod are in the range 1.57V +/- 0.03V.
  • If the values are not correct, do again the para. 4.B. (Adjustment of the Rod(s)).
   (10) Remove the POWER SUPPLY UNIT and the MULTIMETER 0.002 V TO 20 V, 10 A - MULTIRANGE.
   (11) Connect the electrical connector A (5) to the pedal transmitter unit (2) .
   (12) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (10) from the bellcrank yaw/brake.
