C. Get Access
   (1) For the location of this component refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 26-17-00-00).
   (2) Get access to the related lavatory.
   (3) Get access to the smoke detector (3):
     (a) Remove the screws (9) and the air extraction grille (8).
     (b) Remove the air filter (13) and the grille (12) from the air extraction hood (6).
     (c) Remove the screws (11) and the washers (10).
     (d) Carefully lower the panel (5).
4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Smoke Detector
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the smoke detector (3).
   (2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (3) Remove the nuts (7) and the screws (1).
   (4) Carefully remove the smoke detector (3) and the seal (4) from the air-extraction hood (6).
