(1) Get access to the related lavatory (B, D, E, F, H, K, L or M).
(2) Get access to the smoke detector:
(a) Remove the screws (11) and the air-extraction grill (10).
(b) Remove the air filter (12) and the grill (13) from the air-extraction hood (8).

A. Removal of the Lavatory Smoke Detector
(2) Loosen the clamp (14) and disconnect the hose (15) from the air-extraction hood.
(4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Remove the nuts (2), the washers (3) (if applicable), and the screws (9).
(6) Carefully remove the smoke detector (5) with the packing (6) from the air-extraction hood (8).
Subtask 26-17-15-020-061-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
DO NOT OPEN OR REPAIR THE SMOKE DETECTOR.
IF THE SMOKE DETECTOR IS DAMAGED, PUT ON RUBBER GLOVES BEFORE YOU TOUCH IT.
THE SMOKE DETECTOR CONTAINS RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL WHICH IS DANGEROUS.
THUS ONLY WORKSHOPS APPROVED BY THE MANUFACTURER OF THE SMOKE DETECTOR ARE PERMITTED TO DO WORK ON IT.
WHEN YOU DISCARD IT, OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE SMOKE DETECTOR MANUFACTURER. ALSO OBEY LOCAL REGULATIONS FOR RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS.
(1) Remove the screws (7) and lower the air-extraction hood (8) together with the smoke detector (5). (2) Loosen the clamp (14) and disconnect the hose (15) from the air-extraction hood.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the smoke detector. (4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Remove the nuts (2), the washers (3) (if applicable), and the screws (9).
(6) Carefully remove the smoke detector (5) with the packing (6) from the air-extraction hood (8).
A. Removal of the Smoke Detector
(2) Remove the screws (7) and lower the air-extraction hood (8) together with the smoke detector (5).
(3) Loosen the clamp (14) and disconnect the hose (15) from the air-extraction hood.
(4) Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the smoke detector (5).
(5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Remove the nuts (2), the washers (3) (if applicable) and the screws (9).
(7) Carefully remove the smoke detector (5) with the packing (6) from the air-extraction hood (8).
WARNING:
DO NOT OPEN OR REPAIR THE SMOKE DETECTOR.

(1) The procedure to remove all the smoke detectors is the same. Thus, the procedure to remove only one smoke detector is given here. (2) Remove the screws (7) and lower the air-extraction hood (8) together with the smoke detector (5).
(3) Loosen the clamp (14) and disconnect the hose (15) from the air-extraction hood.
(4) Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the smoke detector (5).
(5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Remove the nuts (2), the washers (3) (if applicable) and the screws (9).
(7) Carefully remove the smoke detector (5) with the packing (6) from the air-extraction hood (8).
