3. Job Set-up

A. Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Get Access
(1) For the location of the megaphone, refer to Para. Component Location (Ref. AMM D/O 25-65-00-00).
(2) Open the door/access panel of the stowage compartment.
(3) Release/open the strap/clamp.
(4) Remove the megaphone from the stowage compartment.

4. Procedure

A. Battery Replacement

Megaphone

NOTE: You can find the applicable P/N through the IPC for the related FIN.

(1) For P/N A12SA:
(a) Remove the batteries:
1 Push the bottom of the cartridge (2) and remove the screw (4).
2 Remove the cartridge (2) from the handle (1).
3 Remove and discard the batteries (3).
(b) Install the batteries:
1 Put the new AIPC 25-65-51-01-001 BATTERIES (3) in the cartridge (2).

NOTE: The polarity indication is on the cartridge.

2 Install the cartridge (2) in the handle (1).
3 Push the bottom of the cartridge (2) and install and tighten the screw (4).
(2) For P/N ACREM1A and ACREM2BA
(a) Remove the batteries:
1 Remove the screws (18).
2 Remove the microphone (16) from the housing (14).
3 Remove and discard the batteries (15).
(b) Install the batteries:
1 Put the new AIPC 25-65-51-01-001 BATTERIES (15) into the related tubes (two batteries for each tube) in the housing (14).

NOTE: The polarity indication is shown adjacent to each tube in the housing.

2 Install the microphone (16) in the housing (14).
3 Install and tighten the screws (18).
(3) For P/N MV10
(a) Remove the batteries:
1 Release the latch (22).
2 Open the microphone (24).
3 Remove and discard the batteries (23).
(b) Install the batteries:
1 Put the new AIPC 25-65-51-01-001 BATTERIES (23) into the housing (21).

NOTE: The polarity indication is shown on the inside of the housing.

2 Close the microphone (24).
3 Close and engage the latch (22).
(4) For P/N S243
(a) Remove the battery:
1 Remove the screws (27).
2 Remove the microphone (29) from the housing (33).
3 Carefully pull the battery (32) out from the housing (33).
4 Disconnect the contact buttons (31) from the battery (32).
5 Remove and discard the battery (32).
(b) Install the battery:
1 Make sure that the two contact buttons (31) are clean.
2 Connect the contact buttons (31) to the new AIPC 25-65-51-01-001 BATTERY (32).
3 Carefully put the battery (32) into the housing (33).
4 Put the microphone (29) in position on the housing (33).
5 Install and tighten the screws (27).
(5) For P/N HM012S
(a) Remove the batteries:
1 Remove the microphone (6) from the housing (9).
2 Remove the two cartridges (7) from the housing (9).
3 Carefully pull the batteries (8) out from the cartridges (7) and discard them.
(b) Install the batteries:
1 Put the new AIPC 25-65-51-01-001 BATTERIES (8) in the cartridges (7).

NOTE: The polarity indication is shown on each cartridge.

2 Install the cartridges (7) in the housing (9).
3 Install the microphone (6).

B. Do the operational test of the megaphone (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-51-710-002).

A. Close Access
(1) Install the megaphone in the stowage compartment.
(2) Attach/close the strap/clamp.
(3) Close the door/access panel of the stowage compartment.
(4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
