A. Inspection
(1) Do an inspection of the lining panels of the Bulk cargo compartment for missing fasteners (Ref. AMM TASK 25-50-00-200-002).
(2) If necessary, replace the missing fasteners.
(3) Refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 25-50-00-00) for the applicable panel type (rapid decompression panels or collapsing lining panels).
Subtask 25-55-12-350-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do an inspection of the lining panels of the Bulk cargo compartment for missing fasteners (Ref. AMM TASK 25-50-00-200-002).
(2) If necessary, replace the missing fasteners.
(3) Refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 25-50-00-00) for the applicable panel type (rapid decompression panels or collapsing lining panels).
B. Repair of a Lining Panel with a Missing Fastener (Rapid Decompression Safety-System - Rapid Decompression Panel)
(a) TORQUE the stud to between 0.060 and 0.055 m.daN (5.31 and 4.87 lbf.in )
.
(3) Make sure that you obey all these conditions for permitted/not permitted missing fasteners:
(a) Missing fasteners are permitted if:
(5) Repair the missing fastener as follows:
(a) Seal the hole on the lining panel where the fastener is missing with the Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) or the Adhesive Tape-- Glass Cloth - (Material No.05TAB1) .
(b) Make sure that the tape length does not extend the adjacent structure, adjacent fasteners or the adjacent panel.
Subtask 25-55-12-350-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WHEN YOU REMOVE, INSTALL OR TORQUE THE FASTENER.
IF PARTS OF THE FASTENER RELEASE SUDDENLY, THERE IS A RISK OF INJURY.
CAUTION:
WHEN THE RELEASE FUNCTION OF THE BRACKET (SPRING-LOADED CATCH) WAS OPERATED, REPLACE THE FASTENER ASSEMBLY WITH THE SILVER METALLIC WASHERS.
DO NOT INSTALL FASTENER ASSEMBLIES WITH WHITE WASHERS TOGETHER WITH FASTENER ASSEMBLIES WITH SILVER METALLIC WASHERS ON THE SAME PANEL.
THIS CAN CAUSE MALFUNCTION OF THE RELATED PANEL.
(1) If a stud is missing, loosely install a new fastener assembly (stud, washer and lockwasher): (a) TORQUE the stud to between 0.060 and 0.055 m.daN (5.31 and 4.87 lbf.in )
. NOTE: When you tighten the studs you will hear a click. This is a sign that you used the correct procedure to tighten the studs. This click is not a sign that the correct torque value is applied. The applicable torque value must be between 0.055 and 0.060 m.daN in order to get 0.040 to 0.060 m.daN (measured on installed lining panel), because of to the compressible connection.
(2) If it is not possible to replace the missing fastener, do the temporary repair as follows. (3) Make sure that you obey all these conditions for permitted/not permitted missing fasteners:
(a) Missing fasteners are permitted if:
- Not more than one fastener is missing from each panel quadrant in a ceiling/sidewall/partition lining panel.
- Not more than one fastener is missing from each interface cutout in a ceiling/sidewall/partition lining panel.
- In a corner of a ceiling/sidewall/partition lining panel.
- In a clamp profile.
