(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the waste box is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-17-000-802).

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the Waste Chute Flap of the Space Flex Lavatory
(1) Put the waste chute flaps (1) in position, then install the washers (2) and the screws (3).
(2) Tighten the screws (3).
(3) Put the dampers (6) in position, then install the pins (5) and the retainer rings (4).
(4) Push the waste chute flaps (1) and make sure that they operate correctly.
5. Close-up(1) Put the waste chute flaps (1) in position, then install the washers (2) and the screws (3).
(2) Tighten the screws (3).
(3) Put the dampers (6) in position, then install the pins (5) and the retainer rings (4).
(4) Push the waste chute flaps (1) and make sure that they operate correctly.

A. Close Access
(1) Install the waste box (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-17-400-802).
(2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
