A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the related emergency exit door.
   (3) Open the related emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-001).

4. Procedure
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:
  • THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
  • THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, THE DOOR CAN OPEN WITH FORCE OR THE ESCAPE SLIDE CAN DEPLOY SUDDENLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

A. Removal of the Door Lining
   (1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
   (2) Remove the screws (12), the washers (13) and the panel (1).
   (3) Remove the plugs (25) and the screws (24).
   (4) Remove the screws (14), the washers (15) and the panel (6).
   (5) Remove the slide armed indicator-light (Ref. AMM TASK 52-73-21-000-003).
   (6) Remove the cabin-pressure warning-light panel (Ref. AMM TASK 52-73-22-000-003).
   (7) Remove the screw (16) and the cover (3).
   (8) Remove the handgrip (17):
CAUTION: DO NOT USE TOO MUCH FORCE WHEN YOU REMOVE THE COVER AS THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE RETAINER.
     (a) Put the 995000 TOOL-MANUAL RELEASE between the handgrip cover (18) and the handgrip (17).
     (b) Carefully push the lugs (21) of the handgrip cover (18) in the direction of the arrows.
     (c) Remove the handgrip cover (18).
   (9) Remove the screws (20), the washers (19) and the handgrip (17).
   (10) Pull up the panel (2) and release the brackets from the yo-yo rolls.
   (11) Remove the nut (22) and the screw (23).
   (12) Remove the screws (9), washers (10), brackets (11) and panel (5).
   (13) Remove the screws (8) and the washers (7).
   (14) Carefully disengage the panel (4) from the yo-yo rolls.
