(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

(1) If necessary, open passenger/crew door 831 or 841 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).

4. Procedure

WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:

THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.

IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, THE DOOR CAN OPEN WITH FORCE OR THE ESCAPE SLIDE CAN DEPLOY SUDDENLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

A. Replacement of the Sight Glass Plate

Sight Glass Plate

(1) Remove door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-001).
(2) Remove the damaged sight glass plate (2) from door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1):
(a) Cut the seal (3) from door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1) and discard the seal (3).
(b) With the SPATULA - NON METALLIC, carefully remove the damaged sight glass plate (2) and discard it.
(c) Remove the remaining adhesive from the repair area.
(d) Make sure that the repair area is clean.
(3) Install the new sight glass plate AIPC 25-23-46-02-040 PLATE (2) on door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1):
(a) Attach the new sight glass plate (2) on door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1) with Double Sided Adhesive Tape-- Foam Base - (Material No.05PAC1) .
(b) With the temporary marker, make match marks on the sight glass plate (2) of the sight window of door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1).

NOTE: The match marks are necessary to put the new sight glass plate (2) in the correct position during its installation.

(c) With a temporary marker, make a cutout mark on the new sight glass plate (2).
(d) Cut the new sight glass plate (2) to a dimension of 5mm more on each side than the dimension of the sight window on door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1).
(e) Refer to the cutout marks made on the new sight glass plate (2) and make the cutout on the new sight glass plate (2).
(f) Make sure that the edges of the new sight glass plate (2) are smooth.
(g) Remove the Double Sided Adhesive Tape-- Foam Base - (Material No.05PAC1) from door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1).
(h) Apply Polyurethane Adhesive-Equipment & Furnishing Two parts up to 80°C - (Material No.05FCD1) on the mating surfaces of door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1) and the new sight glass plate (2).
(i) Push the new sight glass plate (2) in position on door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1).
(j) Keep the new sight glass plate (2) in position on door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1).
(k) Remove the unwanted adhesive from door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1).
(l) Make sure that there is no adhesive on the area of the sight glass plate (2) that you can see through the sight window.
(m) Wait until the adhesive cures.
(n) Cut the new AIPC 25-23-46-02-080 SEAL (3) or AIPC 25-23-46-02-090 SEAL (3) to the correct dimensions.
(o) Install the new seal (3) on door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1) with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) .
(p) Remove the unwanted adhesive on door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1).
(q) Install door lining 831CZ or 841CZ (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-400-001).

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1) Close passenger/crew door 831 or 841 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
