A. Bonding of the Seal on the OHSC
(1) Open the related door (1).
(2) If necessary, remove the seal (2).
(3) Clean the repair area and the seal with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) to the bonding area. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the correct procedure.
(5) Put the seal (2) in position and carefully push it on the structure of the OHSC.
(6) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(7) Close the door (1).
Subtask 25-20-00-340-069-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Open the related door (1).
(2) If necessary, remove the seal (2).
(3) Clean the repair area and the seal with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) to the bonding area. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the correct procedure.
(5) Put the seal (2) in position and carefully push it on the structure of the OHSC.
(6) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(7) Close the door (1).
B. Repair of the Delamination on the Bottom, Rear, Top, Partition and Sidewall Panel of the OHSC
Delamination on the Bottom, Rear, Top, Partition and Sidewall Panel of the OHSC ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) Carefully cut out and remove the delamination.
(2) If necessary, apply Paste Adhesive-- Core restoration Furnishing (Material No.13FGF3) (1) to the repair area and let the filler (1) cure for:
(a) Cut a repair patch (2) of Laminate Repair Patch-Fire compliant - Furnishing Legacy (Material No.13XCA8) ( 0.02 in. (0.51 mm)) with the shape of the repair area.
(b) Cut a repair patch (3) of Laminate Repair Patch-Fire compliant - Furnishing Legacy (Material No.13XCA8) ( 0.04 in. (1.02 mm)):
(4) Apply adhesives:
(a) Clean the mating surfaces with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) or Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Acetone - (Material No.08BBH1) .
(b) Let the compound dry for a minimum of 15 minutes.
(c) Apply Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 1 (Material No.05EML9) (4) to all the mating surfaces.
(d) Remove unwanted adhesive with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC and with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) or Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Acetone - (Material No.08BBH1) .
(5) Install the repair patches:
(a) Put the repair patches (2) and (3) in position on the repair area.
(c) Apply pressure equally over all surfaces, i.e. with a metal foil.
(6) Let the adhesive cure:
(8) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-High Temp. Area One part paste - (Material No.06CCD1) to all joints.
Subtask 25-20-00-340-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Delamination on the Bottom, Rear, Top, Partition and Sidewall Panel of the OHSC ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (2) If necessary, apply Paste Adhesive-- Core restoration Furnishing (Material No.13FGF3) (1) to the repair area and let the filler (1) cure for:
- 24 hours at room temperature
or - 1 hour at 80 deg C.
(a) Cut a repair patch (2) of Laminate Repair Patch-Fire compliant - Furnishing Legacy (Material No.13XCA8) ( 0.02 in. (0.51 mm)) with the shape of the repair area.
(b) Cut a repair patch (3) of Laminate Repair Patch-Fire compliant - Furnishing Legacy (Material No.13XCA8) ( 0.04 in. (1.02 mm)):
- with the shape of the full panel
or - with the shape of the repair area and an overlap of a minimum of 2 in. (50.80 mm) in all directions.
NOTE: If the material thickness of 0.04 in. (1.02 mm) is not available, it is permitted to use 2 patches with the thickness of 0.02 in. (0.51 mm) each.
(c) If necessary, cut out holes for inserts, drills and washers. (4) Apply adhesives:
(a) Clean the mating surfaces with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) or Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Acetone - (Material No.08BBH1) .
(b) Let the compound dry for a minimum of 15 minutes.
(c) Apply Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 1 (Material No.05EML9) (4) to all the mating surfaces.
(d) Remove unwanted adhesive with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC and with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) or Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Acetone - (Material No.08BBH1) .
(5) Install the repair patches:
(a) Put the repair patches (2) and (3) in position on the repair area.
NOTE: If possible, turn the damaged component to install the repair patch from the top. This prevents adhesive flow.
NOTE: To get optimum adhesion, press the compound firmly onto one or two surfaces.
(b) Install clamps to prevent movement during curing. (c) Apply pressure equally over all surfaces, i.e. with a metal foil.
(6) Let the adhesive cure:
- for a minimum of 24 hours at 25 deg C
or - for a minimum of 2 hours at 60 deg C.
Make sure that the parts do not move during curing.
(8) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-High Temp. Area One part paste - (Material No.06CCD1) to all joints.
C. Repair of the Bottom, Rear, Top, Partition and Sidewall Panel of the OHSC
(1) Remove the equipment and the brackets/supports from the related OHSC as necessary.
(2) Cut out a patch of Laminate Repair Patch-Fire compliant - Cargo Legacy (Material No.13XCA9) with the dimensions of the damaged panel.
(3) If necessary, cut out holes for inserts, drills and washers.
(4) Drill access holes into the repair patch (1) that align with the inserts in the panel.
(5) Clean the mating surfaces of the damaged panel and the repair patch (1) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(6) Apply Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Composite General Use Structure (Material No.13FBB2) to the mating surfaces with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
(8) Apply a bead of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) around the repair patch (1).
(9) Install the brackets/supports and the equipment of the related OHSC as necessary.
Subtask 25-20-00-340-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the equipment and the brackets/supports from the related OHSC as necessary.
(2) Cut out a patch of Laminate Repair Patch-Fire compliant - Cargo Legacy (Material No.13XCA9) with the dimensions of the damaged panel.
(3) If necessary, cut out holes for inserts, drills and washers.
(4) Drill access holes into the repair patch (1) that align with the inserts in the panel.
(5) Clean the mating surfaces of the damaged panel and the repair patch (1) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(6) Apply Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Composite General Use Structure (Material No.13FBB2) to the mating surfaces with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
NOTE: For this repair only 3M Scotch_Weld 2216 B/A is recommended
(7) Carefully put the repair patch (1) in position and apply pressure to the repair area. (8) Apply a bead of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) around the repair patch (1).
(9) Install the brackets/supports and the equipment of the related OHSC as necessary.
D. Repair of the Handrail Assembly
(1) Open the door of the OHSC.
(2) Remove the handrail assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-24-41-960-001).
(3) Rub the damaged area with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 280).
(5) If the damage goes through the handrail assembly, apply Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) to the side opposite the damaged area.
(6) Use a SPATULA - PLASTIC to fill the damaged area.
(a) If the damage goes through the handrail assembly, fill the damaged area with Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Composite General Use Structure (Material No.13FBB2) .
(c) If necessary, remove the masking tape.
(d) Clean the surface with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Methyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBE1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(7) Paint the repair area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-20-00-370-006).
(8) Install the handrail assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-24-41-960-001).
(9) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(10) Close the door of the OHSC.
Subtask 25-20-00-340-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Open the door of the OHSC.
(2) Remove the handrail assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-24-41-960-001).
(3) Rub the damaged area with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 280).
NOTE: If the damage goes through the handrail assembly, you must rub the two sides.
(4) Clean the surfaces with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Methyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBE1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) . (5) If the damage goes through the handrail assembly, apply Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) to the side opposite the damaged area.
(6) Use a SPATULA - PLASTIC to fill the damaged area.
(a) If the damage goes through the handrail assembly, fill the damaged area with Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Composite General Use Structure (Material No.13FBB2) .
NOTE: For this repair only 3M Scotch_Weld 2216 B/A is recommended
(b) Make the repair area smooth with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 320 - 400). (c) If necessary, remove the masking tape.
(d) Clean the surface with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Methyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBE1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(7) Paint the repair area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-20-00-370-006).
(8) Install the handrail assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-24-41-960-001).
(9) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(10) Close the door of the OHSC.
E. Repair of the OHSC Handrail AttachmenT
(1) Carefully remove the damaged material.
(2) Cut out a repair patch of Laminate Repair Patch-Fire compliant - Cargo (Material No.13XCA4) that is as large as possible to cover the damaged area.
(3) Make the mating surfaces smooth with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 320 - 400).
(4) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Methyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBE1) or Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(5) Immediately dry the repair area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(6) Apply Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 2 (Material No.05EML8) to the mating surfaces and put the repair patch in position on the hand rail.
(8) Hold the repair patch in position with masking tape Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) .
(9) When the adhesive is cured, remove the masking tape.
(10) Drill new attachment hole(s) into the handrail that align with the hole(s) in the OHSC.
(11) Drill hole(s) with a diameter of 15 mm (0.5906 in.) in the distance A of 23 mm (0.9055 in.) away from the available holes.
(12) Deburr the holes and install the clip nut.
Subtask 25-20-00-340-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Carefully remove the damaged material.
(2) Cut out a repair patch of Laminate Repair Patch-Fire compliant - Cargo (Material No.13XCA4) that is as large as possible to cover the damaged area.
(3) Make the mating surfaces smooth with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 320 - 400).
(4) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Methyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBE1) or Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(5) Immediately dry the repair area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(6) Apply Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 2 (Material No.05EML8) to the mating surfaces and put the repair patch in position on the hand rail.
NOTE: For this repair only the following materials are recommended:
(7) Remove the unwanted adhesive with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC. - ARALDITE AW 134 with Hardener HV 997
- ARALDITE AW 134 with Hardener HY 994
(8) Hold the repair patch in position with masking tape Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) .
(9) When the adhesive is cured, remove the masking tape.
(10) Drill new attachment hole(s) into the handrail that align with the hole(s) in the OHSC.
(11) Drill hole(s) with a diameter of 15 mm (0.5906 in.) in the distance A of 23 mm (0.9055 in.) away from the available holes.
(12) Deburr the holes and install the clip nut.
F. Repair of an OHSC Partition or a Stiffener
(1) Carefully remove the damaged profile from the partition or the stiffener with a CHISEL - NON METALLIC.
(2) Remove the unwanted material with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 280).
(3) Fill the damaged area of the partition or the stiffener with:
(5) Let the filler cure and remove the unwanted material with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 280).
(6) Use a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 280) to make the mating surfaces along the edges of the partition or the stiffener rough ( 20 mm (0.7874 in.) from the edge).
(7) Use Laminating resin-Epoxy Fire compliant - (Material No.13EBK1) or Dry glass fabric-4H Satin 293 gsm - 143 style - - (Material No.13ACA1) to give protection to the filled surface and the edges of the partition or the stiffener.
(8) Put the laminate on the surface around the edge of the partition or stiffener (not more than 20 mm (0.7874 in.) from the edge).
(9) Let the laminate cure.
(10) Paint the repair area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-20-00-370-006).
Subtask 25-20-00-340-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Carefully remove the damaged profile from the partition or the stiffener with a CHISEL - NON METALLIC.
(2) Remove the unwanted material with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 280).
(3) Fill the damaged area of the partition or the stiffener with:
- Paste Adhesive-Polyester Filler - (Material No.13FCA1)
or - Low density compound-Fire compliant Low temperature curing Furnishing (Material No.13GBB3) .
(5) Let the filler cure and remove the unwanted material with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 280).
(6) Use a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 280) to make the mating surfaces along the edges of the partition or the stiffener rough ( 20 mm (0.7874 in.) from the edge).
(7) Use Laminating resin-Epoxy Fire compliant - (Material No.13EBK1) or Dry glass fabric-4H Satin 293 gsm - 143 style - - (Material No.13ACA1) to give protection to the filled surface and the edges of the partition or the stiffener.
(8) Put the laminate on the surface around the edge of the partition or stiffener (not more than 20 mm (0.7874 in.) from the edge).
(9) Let the laminate cure.
(10) Paint the repair area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-20-00-370-006).
G. Bonding of the Edge Protection on the Full Partition in the OHSC
(1) Open the related door (1).
(2) Remove the edge protection (2):
(a) Carefully remove the damaged edge protection (2) with a WEDGE - NON METALLIC.
(b) Remove the remaining sealant from the partition with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
(c) Clean the area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Install the edge protection (2):
(a) Apply Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 1 (Material No.05EML9) to the bonding area.
(b) Put the edge protection (2) in position and carefully push it on the partition.
(c) Remove the unwanted adhesive with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(5) Close the door (1).
5. Close-up(1) Open the related door (1).
(2) Remove the edge protection (2):
(a) Carefully remove the damaged edge protection (2) with a WEDGE - NON METALLIC.
(b) Remove the remaining sealant from the partition with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
(c) Clean the area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Install the edge protection (2):
(a) Apply Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 1 (Material No.05EML9) to the bonding area.
(b) Put the edge protection (2) in position and carefully push it on the partition.
(c) Remove the unwanted adhesive with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(5) Close the door (1).
