Removal of the IDG Cooler Hoses

GET INSTRUCTIONS FROM YOUR EMPLOYER ON WHICH PPE IS NECESSARY.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AND THE ADJACENT COMPONENTS AFTER ENGINE SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE, THE ENGINE OIL AND THE ADJACENT COMPONENTS CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE OR ADJACENT COMPONENTS. UNWANTED ENGINE OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN CLOTH. THE ENGINE OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME COMPONENTS.

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Open the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Installation of the engine protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Install all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
4. Procedure
Subtask 24-21-55-864-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Do the depressurization of the IDG as given in the servicing of the IDG (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-00-612-804).

B. Removal of the IDG Cooler Hoses
F AC Generator Oil Tubes ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Find the IDG cooler hoses (1) and (4) attached to the IDG in the 7 o'clock position
   (2) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) in position below the IDG cooler hoses (1) or (4) to catch the oil when you disconnect the IDG cooler hoses (1) or (4).
   (3) Remove the IDG cooler hose (1)
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE HOSE NUTS. USE ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE FITTING AND ONE WRENCH TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE HOSE NUT. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Disconnect the IDG cooler hose (1) from the thermal management system module.
     (b) Disconnect the IDG cooler hose (1) from the fitting (6) on the IDG.
     (c) Remove the IDG cooler hose (1) from the engine.
   (4) Remove the IDG cooler hose (2)
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE HOSE NUTS. USE ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE FITTING AND ONE WRENCH TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE HOSE NUT. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Disconnect the IDG cooler hose (2) from the thermal management system module.
     (b) Disconnect the IDG cooler hose (2) from the fitting (3) on the IDG.
     (c) Remove the IDG cooler hose (2) from the engine.
   (5) If necessary, remove the fitting (6).
     (a) Remove the fitting (6) from the IDG.
     (b) Remove and discard the preformed packing (5) from the fitting (6).
   (6) If necessary, remove the fitting (3).
     (a) Remove the fitting (3) from the IDG.
     (b) Remove and discard the preformed packing (4) from the fitting (3).
