B. Get Access
(1) Open the doors of the overhead stowage compartment and the Video Control Center (VCC) (8).
(2) Remove the closeout panel (2):
(a) Hold the panel (2).
(b) Release the captive screws (3).
(c) Remove the panel (2) from the VCC (8).

(2) Remove the closeout panel (2):
(a) Hold the panel (2).
(b) Release the captive screws (3).
(c) Remove the panel (2) from the VCC (8).

A. Removal of the System Control Unit (SCU)
(1) Open the doors of the left forward stowage compartment between FR20 and FR23.
(2) Open the flap on the front end of the left overhead stowage compartment for access to the video control center.
(3) Remove the cover (5) to get access to the electrical connectors (6).
(4) Disconnect the electrical connectors (6).
(5) Loosen the knurled screws (2).
(6) Carefully remove the SCU (3) together with the adaptor plate (4) out of the rack (1).
(7) Loosen the screws (7) and remove the SCU (3) from the adaptor plate (4).
(8) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
Subtask 23-36-34-020-050-T ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Open the doors of the left forward stowage compartment between FR20 and FR23.
(2) Open the flap on the front end of the left overhead stowage compartment for access to the video control center.
(3) Remove the cover (5) to get access to the electrical connectors (6).
(4) Disconnect the electrical connectors (6).
(5) Loosen the knurled screws (2).
(6) Carefully remove the SCU (3) together with the adaptor plate (4) out of the rack (1).
(7) Loosen the screws (7) and remove the SCU (3) from the adaptor plate (4).
(8) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
A. Removal of the Control Panel (CP)
(1) Remove the nut (10) and the bonding cable (9) from the mounting plate (4).
(2) Release the captive screws (7) that attach the mounting plate (4) to the VCC (8).
(4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Remove the screws (5) that attach the CP (1) to the mounting plate (4).
(6) Remove the mounting plate (4) from the CP (1).
(7) Keep the parts for the subsequent installation procedure.
(1) Remove the nut (10) and the bonding cable (9) from the mounting plate (4).
(2) Release the captive screws (7) that attach the mounting plate (4) to the VCC (8).
CAUTION:
DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS OR OTHER CONDUCTORS ON THE COMPONENT DURING THE PROCEDURE. IF YOU TOUCH THESE CONDUCTORS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO COMPONENT.
(3) Carefully lift the CP (1) assembly and disconnect the electrical connectors (6). (4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Remove the screws (5) that attach the CP (1) to the mounting plate (4).
(6) Remove the mounting plate (4) from the CP (1).
(7) Keep the parts for the subsequent installation procedure.
