GENERAL VISUAL INSPECTION OF WING UPPER SURFACE INCLUDING SLATS, FLAPS AND SPOILERS (EWIS)
NOTE: This is an alternative method for the general visual inspection of the wing upper surface including the slats, flaps and spoilers.
For the other method, refer to the relevant task in this page block.
NOTE: This task can contribute to fuel savings.
NOTE: This is an Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) procedure. EWIS is defined in ESPM 20-33-11.

WARNING: DO NOT EXTEND THE SLATS AND FLAPS WHEN THE THRUST REVERSER COWLS ARE DEPLOYED IN THE 45 DEG. POSITION.
   (1) Extend the spoilers (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
   (2) Fully extend the flaps and the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004)

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: DO NOT EXTEND THE SLATS AND FLAPS WHEN THE THRUST REVERSER COWLS ARE DEPLOYED IN THE 45 DEG. POSITION.
   (1) Extend the spoilers (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).

B. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 500 and 600.

A. Inspection
   (1) Do a general visual inspection of the wing upper surface (zones 500 and 600).
   (2) Make sure that there are no signs of corrosion, cracks or damage.
   (3) Make sure that all the installations (wiring, ducting, piping) are attached correctly.
