A. Test
   (1) If you have a small or intermittent leak go to step 3.
   (2) If you have a large leak:
     (a) Place a container (drum - 40 gall) under the drain mast.
     (b) If necessary, defuel the aircraft AMM 28-25-00-650-001.
     (c) In accordance with the local regulations:
1 Remove all the spilt fuel.
2 Clean the fuel spillage from the area on the ground (hard standing).
     (d) Examine the holes in the drain mast to find which hole the fuel comes from.
NOTE: The top hole is from the APU shrouded fuel-feed line.
The bottom hole is from the center tank ventilation area.
     (e) Look for signs of fuel leakage in the areas that follow:
NOTE: The fuel leakage can be caused by incorrect assembly , damage , the natural deteriation of fuel sealant or an unserviceable seal .
1 The main under carriage bays.
       2 The center tank.
     (f) If a fuel leak is found, repair all the leaks:
     (g) Continue with step (3).
   (3) Do the procedure Check Fuel Leak Monitor 500QM (center tank) for Evidence of Fuel Leakage AMM 28-11-00-200-002.
   (4) If:
     (a) No fuel is found in the fuel leak monitor 500QM (center tank), troubleshoot the APU fuel-feed line as follows:
NOTE: The logic for step (a) is.
The APU fuel-feed line does not have a leak monitor, if the leak monitor 500QM does not show fuel, the source must be the APU shrouded fuel-feed line.
1 Do a Leak Test of the APU Fuel Line:
a Do an operational test of the APU fuel pump system to purge the fuel line AMM 28-22-00-710-001.
b Do the leak test of the APU fuel line AMM 28-22-00-790-002 or if applicable AMM 28-22-00-210-001.
c Examine the APU Fuel Line for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
d If you find leaks, replace the items of the fuel line, as necessary AMM 28-22-47-000-001 and AMM 28-22-47-400-001.
     (b) Fuel is found in the leak monitor 500QM (center wing box), do (Ref. TSM TASK 28-11-00-810-801).

  • ACT shrouded fuel transfer and vent line
  • ACT cavity/cavities (the space between an ACT bladder and the rigid structure).
The bottom hole is from the center tank ventilation area.

       3 The rear cargo bay.
     (f) If a fuel leak is found, repair all the leaks:
     (g) Continue with step (3).
   (3) Do the tests that follow to find (or to make sure) which system is the source of the fuel leakage:
   (4) If:
     (a) No fuel is found in the fuel leak monitors listed, troubleshoot the APU fuel-feed line as follows:
NOTE: The logic for step (a) is.
The APU fuel-feed line does not have a leak monitor, if the three leak monitors listed/given do not show fuel, the source must be the APU shrouded fuel-feed line.
