Clean Pneumatic Starter Valve Filter
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

Subtask 80-13-51-941-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 80-13-51-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
437AL 438AR.
(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL 448AR.
Subtask 80-13-51-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Remove the filter from the starter control valve
(1) Cut and remove the lockwire.
(2) Remove the plug (4), the sealing ring (3), the spring (2) and the filter (1) from the starter control valve (5).
(3) Discard the sealing ring (3).
Subtask 80-13-51-620-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Cut and remove the lockwire.
(2) Remove the plug (4), the sealing ring (3), the spring (2) and the filter (1) from the starter control valve (5).
(3) Discard the sealing ring (3).
B. Install a CAP - BLANKING to the opening.
Subtask 80-13-51-210-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL C. Do a visual inspection of the filter (1) for damage
(1) If the filter is damaged, reject it.
Subtask 80-13-51-130-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If the filter is damaged, reject it.
D. Clean the filter
(1) Immerse the filter (1) in cleaning fluid stoddard solvent (Material No.V10-061) to remove unwanted material.
(2) Soak the filter (1) in the cleaning fluid until the oil film and any other deposits dissolve or loosen.
(3) Use a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SOFT to remove remaining deposits from the filter (1).
(4) Dry the filter (1) with clean, dry compressed air.
(5) Visually inspect the filter.
Subtask 80-13-51-630-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Immerse the filter (1) in cleaning fluid stoddard solvent (Material No.V10-061) to remove unwanted material.
(2) Soak the filter (1) in the cleaning fluid until the oil film and any other deposits dissolve or loosen.
(3) Use a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SOFT to remove remaining deposits from the filter (1).
(4) Dry the filter (1) with clean, dry compressed air.
(5) Visually inspect the filter.
E. Remove the cap from the opening.
Subtask 80-13-51-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL F. Install the filter to the starter control valve
(1) Install the spring (2) to the filter (1).
(2) Install the filter (1) to the starter control valve (5).
(3) Install a new AIPC 80-13-51-80-080 SEALING RING (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010) to the plug (4).
(4) Install the plug (4) to the starter control valve (5).
(5) TORQUE the plug (4) to between 35 and 20 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.23 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(6) Safety the plug (4) with lockwire (Material No.V02-126) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
5. Close-up(1) Install the spring (2) to the filter (1).
(2) Install the filter (1) to the starter control valve (5).
(3) Install a new AIPC 80-13-51-80-080 SEALING RING (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010) to the plug (4).
(4) Install the plug (4) to the starter control valve (5).
(5) TORQUE the plug (4) to between 35 and 20 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.23 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (6) Safety the plug (4) with lockwire (Material No.V02-126) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
437AL 438AR.
(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL 448AR.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
