Removal of the Lube Trim Check Valve
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AND THE ADJACENT COMPONENTS AFTER ENGINE SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE, THE ENGINE OIL AND THE ADJACENT COMPONENTS CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the left thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the left thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

A. Removal of the Lube Trim Check Valve
(2) Remove the lube trim check valve (6) from the tube (LR36) and the VORV manifold as follows:
(a) Remove the three bolts (4) from the tube (LR36) (5).
(b) Removal of the tube (LR37)
(c) Remove the three bolts (2) and lube trim check valve (6).
(d) Remove and discard the packing (1) from the lube trim check valve (6).
(3) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Find the lube trim check valve (6) attached to the Variable Oil Reduction Valve (VORV) manifold at approximately the 9 o'clock position. See the figure. (2) Remove the lube trim check valve (6) from the tube (LR36) and the VORV manifold as follows:
(a) Remove the three bolts (4) from the tube (LR36) (5).
(b) Removal of the tube (LR37)
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
1 Loosen the tube (LR37) B-nut and remove the tube (LR36) (5) and seal (3) from the tube (LR37) and lube trim check valve (6). (c) Remove the three bolts (2) and lube trim check valve (6).
(d) Remove and discard the packing (1) from the lube trim check valve (6).
(3) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
