C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 79-21-12-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the left thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the left thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

A. Removal of the Air/Oil Heat Exchange Kiss Seal
(1) Find the air/oil heat exchange kiss seal (1) on the left side of the engine at approximately the 9 o'clock position.
(2) Remove the air/oil heat exchange kiss seal (1) as follows:
(a) Remove the 12 nuts (2) from the 12 studs.
(b) Remove the air/oil heat exchange kiss seal (1) from the air cooling exhaust duct (AD02).
(3) Installation of the protection covers
(1) Find the air/oil heat exchange kiss seal (1) on the left side of the engine at approximately the 9 o'clock position.
(2) Remove the air/oil heat exchange kiss seal (1) as follows:
(a) Remove the 12 nuts (2) from the 12 studs.
(b) Remove the air/oil heat exchange kiss seal (1) from the air cooling exhaust duct (AD02).
(3) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
