Removal of the Thrust Reverser Hydraulic Isolation Valve

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-37-51-941-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position in the left side of engine.

D. Depressurization of the hydraulic reservoirs
   (1) For engine 1 depressurize the green hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (2) For engine 2 depressurize the yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 78-37-51-020-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Thrust Reverser Hydraulic Isolation Valve
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (40) from the thrust reverser isolation valve (45).
NOTE: If necessary, use the PLIERS - NOSE, SOFT, LONG to loosen the electrical connector.
   (2) Put CAP - BLANKING on the electrical connector of the harness and on the isolation valve.
   (3) Remove the bolt (130) and the washer (135) that attach the clamp (140).
   (4) Disconnect the hydraulic tubes.
     (a) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the tubes.
     (b) Disconnect the pressure supply tube (70), control tube (115) and return tube (120). Let the hydraulic fluid drain into the container.
     (c) Disconnect and remove the pressure supply tube (125) between the filter and the isolation valve (45).
     (d) Remove the container and put a CLOTH - PROTECTIVE below the isolation valve.
     (e) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (5) Remove the bolts (20) and (50) and washers (15) that attach the support plate (5) (where the isolation valve and its filter are installed) below the pylon.
   (6) Remove the support plate assembly (5) from the pylon.
   (7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (8) Cut and remove the lockwire which safeties the bolts (35).
   (9) Loosen and remove the four bolts (35), washers (30) and spacers (25), (26) and (27) that attach the isolation valve (45) and the thermal isolation (155) on the support plate (5).
   (10) Remove the isolation valve (45) and the thermal isolation (155) from the support plate (5).
   (11) Put blanking plugs on the open ports of the isolation valve and of the filter.
   (12) Remove the protective cloth from the engine.
