3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-36-41-941-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
   (1) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

C. Make the thrust reverser unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
4. Procedure
Subtask 78-36-41-820-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Inspection of the thrust reverser half door latches
NOTE: This procedure should only be used to check the thrust reverser half door latch adjustment and not used to adjust the half door latches.
   (1) Release the forward latch. The other three latches are to stay locked.
   (2) Place the GAGE 25 DAN (50 LBF) - PUSH on the tip of the latch handle.
   (3) Push the push gage to close the forward latch. Read the maximum force indication on the push gage dial.
   (4) The force required to close the latch must be between 31.4 lbf (13.97 daN) to 42.7 lbf (19 daN).
   (5) Do a check of each latch from the front to the rear. Refer to steps (1) through (4).
   (6) If the force required to close a latch is not satisfactory, adjust the latch (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-41-820-042).

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
