C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THE DEACTIVATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS PROCEDURE, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED OPERATION AND THUS OF INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

A. Removal of the Pressure Relief Door Latch

CAUTION: DO NOT OPEN THE PRESSURE RELIEF DOOR MORE THAN 23 DEGREES. IF YOU OPEN THE PRESSURE RELIEF DOOR MORE THAN 23 DEGREES, THE SHOCK BUSHINGS CAN HIT THE PRESSURE-RELIEF DOOR CLEVIS AND BECOME DAMAGED.

(1) Remove the pressure relief door latch (10).
(a) Open the pressure relief door.
(b) Remove the five nuts (1), one washer (2) and five pins (3) that attach the forward latch heatshield (5) and pressure relief door latch (4) to the pressure relief door frame.
(c) Remove the forward latch heat-shield (5) and pressure relief door latch (4) from the pressure relief door frame.
