B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Extend the left thrust-reverser translating sleeve (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802).
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

A. Removal of the Left Thrust-Reverser Cascades - Engine No. 2.
   (1) Remove the LH thrust reverser cascades as follows:
     (a) Remove the 23 bolts (1) and 23 washers (2) that attach the LH upper cascade (3) to the torque box and the cascade ring.
     (b) Remove the LH upper cascade (3) from the thrust reverser half.
     (c) Remove the 23 bolts (1) and 23 washers (2) that attach the LH middle cascade (4) to the torque box and the cascade ring.
     (d) Remove the LH middle cascade (4) from the thrust reverser half.
     (e) Remove the nine bolts (1) and nine washers (2) that attach the LH lower cascade (5) to the torque box and the cascade ring.
     (f) Remove the LH lower cascade (5) from the thrust reverser half.
   (2) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
