Subtask 78-32-11-941-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

A. Do a visual inspection of the Inner Barrel Heatshield and Fire Protective Coating as follows:
NOTE: If required, use the FLASHLIGHT for hard to see places.

MAXIMUM SERVICEABLE LIMITS
REMARKS
1.Inspect the inner barrel heatshields for:


A.Crack or hole
None permitted
If there are cracks or holes, repair or replace before next flight. Monitor at 750 flight hours / 750 flight cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)
B.Gouge, nick and scratch
0.008 in. (0.20 mm) maximum depth over 8 in. (203.2 mm) length.
Record location and monitor at 750 flight hours / 750 flight cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)
C.Missing or uncrimped rivets
Maximum of ten percent missing or uncrimped per row of rivets.
Missing or uncrimped rivets must be separated by four good rivets. Missing end rivets not permitted. Monitor at 750 flight hours / 750 flight cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)
D.Bulges, gaps


(1)At exit heatshield trailing edge
0.157 in. (4.0 mm) maximum bulges or gaps.
Allowable if there is no crack or hole. If bulges or gaps are more than 0.157 in. (4.0 mm) monitor at 750 flight hours / 750 flight cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest), or repair NSRM 543000, Rep.No.12.
(2)Heatshield other than trailing edge
Permitted if there is no crack or hole.
Permitted if there is no crack or hole.
E.Heat coloration
Permitted if there is no other damage
Record location and inspect at 750 flight hours / 750 flight cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)
2.Inspect thermal blanket outer foil:


A.Any/all damage
No damage permitted
If the damage is less than 3.0 in. (76.2 mm) in diameter, (and the filler is not missing or wet), do NSRM 543000, temporary rep. No. 19. Do a permanent repair not later than 750 flight hours / 750 flight cycles (whichever the earliest) after the temporary repair. For permanent repair do CMM 783236 rep. No. 58.
B.Security of attachment
No defect allowed
Replace damaged RTV 106 (Material No.CP2267) and broken or loose safety wire.
3.Examine intumescent fireproof coating for:


A.Abrasion
None permitted
If there is an abrasion, repair before next flight per CMM 783236 Rep. No. 63. Record the location of repairs and monitor at 750 flight hours / 750 flight cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)
B.Scratches
0.06 in. (1.52 mm) maximum depth.
Record location and monitor at 750 flight hours / 750 flight cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)
C.Holes, peeling
None permitted
If there is a hole or peeling, repair before next flight per CMM 783236 Rep. No. 63.
If the intumescent coating pink color appears, recover it with a RTV 106 (Material No.CP2267) with the BRUSH - NON METALLIC and over lap with a RTV 560 (Material No.CP2463) . Record location of repairs and monitor at 750 flight hours / 750 flight cycles / 4 calendar months (whichever the earliest)
NOTE: (For intumescent coating only). 15 repairs are allowed for one thrust reverser half, and 3 repairs for an area of 140 in.2 (90322 mm2).
4.Inspect thrust reverser fire seals for:


A.Damage
None allowed
If damage is found, replace the fire seal CMM 783236.
B.Cut
None allowed
If a cut is found, replace the fire seal CMM 783236.
C.Missing seal
None allowed
Replace the missing fire seal CMM 783236.
D.Missing fasteners
None allowed
Replace the missing fasteners CMM 783236.
E.Misalignment
None allowed
Align or replace the fire seal CMM 783236.
5. Close-up

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the thrust reverser doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-040):
