A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

A. General Visual Inspection of the Thrust Reverser Door Hinges and Attachment Hardware

1.Crack	None allowed	If cracks are found, replace the thrust reverser half door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-400-002).
2.Dent	None allowed	If dents are found, replace the thrust reverser half door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-400-002).
3.Corrosion	None allowed	If corrosion is found on the thrust reverser hinge structure, replace the thrust reverser half door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-400-002). If corrosion is found on the hinge pin(s) or hardware, replace the damaged bolt(s) or hardware (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-400-002).
4.Loose hardware	None allowed	Tighten the hardware (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-400-002).
5.Missing hardware	None allowed	Replace the missing hardware (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-400-002).
6.Worn bushing	None allowed	Replace the bushing. Refer to CFM56-5B Nacelle SRM 54-30-00 (Cage Code 51563), Repair No. 17.

5. Close-up

A. Install the hinge access panel as follows:

(1) Install the hinge access panel (5) and attach with screws (10).
(2) TORQUE the screws (10) to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
