Removal of the Left TRAS Track Lock Harness

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.

(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 78-31-62-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). E. Get Access
(1) Get access to the TRAS track-lock harness on the forward frame of the thrust reverser cowl door.
4. Procedure(1) Get access to the TRAS track-lock harness on the forward frame of the thrust reverser cowl door.
CAUTION:
USE PLIERS THAT HAVE TEFLON JAWS TO TIGHTEN THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE PLIERS THAT HAVE METAL JAWS. METAL JAWS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS.
Subtask 78-31-62-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Removal of the Left TRAS Track Lock Harness (3)
(1) Disconnect the pylon track lock harness (4050VC-A) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3) (4050VC) with PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
(2) Remove the four screws (1) and the four washers (2) that attach the left TRAS track lock harness (3) to the torque box disconnect panel.
(3) Remove the left TRAS track lock harness (3) from the torque box disconnect panel.
(4) Remove the bolt (6) and washer (5) that attach the clamp (4), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the left TRAS monitoring harness clamp and the left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
(6) Remove the clamp (4) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3).
(7) Remove the two bolts (8) and the two washers (9) that attach the two clamps (7), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the two left TRAS monitoring harness clamps and the left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
(9) Remove the two clamps (7) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3).
(10) Remove the six bolts (10) and the six washers (11) that attach the six clamps (12), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the six left TRAS monitoring harness clamps and the left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
(12) Remove the six clamps (12) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3).
(13) Remove the four nuts (13) and the eight washers (14) that attach the four clamps (15), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the four supports, the four left TRAS monitoring harness clamps and left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
(16) Remove the bolt (18) and washer (17) that attach the clamp (16), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the left TRAS monitoring harness clamp and the left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
(18) Remove the clamp (16) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3).
(19) Remove the bolt (19) and washer (20) that attach the clamp (21), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the left TRAS monitoring harness clamp and the left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
(21) Remove the clamp (21) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3).
(22) Remove the bolt (24) and washer (23) that attach the clamp (22), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the left TRAS monitoring harness clamp and the left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
(24) Remove the clamp (22) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3).
(25) Remove the bolt (25) and washers (26) and (27) that attach the left TRAS track lock harness (3) terminal lug to the torque box.
(26) Disconnect the left TRAS track lock harness (3) (4141KS-A) from the track lock valve with PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
(27) Remove the left TRAS track lock harness (3) from the torque box.
(28) Installation of the protection covers
(1) Disconnect the pylon track lock harness (4050VC-A) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3) (4050VC) with PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
(2) Remove the four screws (1) and the four washers (2) that attach the left TRAS track lock harness (3) to the torque box disconnect panel.
(3) Remove the left TRAS track lock harness (3) from the torque box disconnect panel.
(4) Remove the bolt (6) and washer (5) that attach the clamp (4), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the left TRAS monitoring harness clamp and the left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
NOTE: Do not remove the clamp from the left TRAS monitoring harness.
(5) Install the bolt (6), washer (5), and left TRAS monitoring harness clamp back on the torque box. Tighten the bolt (6) fingertight. (6) Remove the clamp (4) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3).
(7) Remove the two bolts (8) and the two washers (9) that attach the two clamps (7), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the two left TRAS monitoring harness clamps and the left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
NOTE: Do not remove the clamps from the left TRAS monitoring harness.
(8) Install the two bolts (8), two washers (9), and two left TRAS monitoring harness clamps back on the torque box. Tighten the bolts (8) fingertight. (9) Remove the two clamps (7) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3).
(10) Remove the six bolts (10) and the six washers (11) that attach the six clamps (12), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the six left TRAS monitoring harness clamps and the left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
NOTE: Do not remove the clamps from the left TRAS monitoring harness.
(11) Install the six bolts (10), six washers (11), and six left TRAS monitoring harness clamps back on the torque box. Tighten the bolts (10) fingertight. (12) Remove the six clamps (12) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3).
(13) Remove the four nuts (13) and the eight washers (14) that attach the four clamps (15), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the four supports, the four left TRAS monitoring harness clamps and left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
NOTE: Do not remove the clamps from the left TRAS monitoring harness.
NOTE: Do not remove the supports from the torque box.
(14) Attach the four supports, the four left TRAS monitoring harness clamps and left TRAS monitoring harness back on the torque box. Use the four nuts (13) and the eight washers (14). NOTE: Do not torque the nuts (13) at this time.
(15) Remove the four clamps (15) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3). (16) Remove the bolt (18) and washer (17) that attach the clamp (16), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the left TRAS monitoring harness clamp and the left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
NOTE: Do not remove the clamp from the left TRAS monitoring harness.
(17) Install the bolt (18), washer (17), and left TRAS monitoring harness clamp back on the torque box. Tighten the bolt (18) fingertight. (18) Remove the clamp (16) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3).
(19) Remove the bolt (19) and washer (20) that attach the clamp (21), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the left TRAS monitoring harness clamp and the left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
NOTE: Do not remove the clamp from the left TRAS monitoring harness.
(20) Install the bolt (19), washer (20), and left TRAS monitoring harness clamp back on the torque box. Tighten the bolt (19) fingertight. (21) Remove the clamp (21) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3).
(22) Remove the bolt (24) and washer (23) that attach the clamp (22), the left TRAS track lock harness (3), the left TRAS monitoring harness clamp and the left TRAS monitoring harness to the torque box.
NOTE: Do not remove the clamp from the left TRAS monitoring harness.
(23) Install the bolt (24), washer (23), and left TRAS monitoring harness clamp back on the torque box. Tighten the bolt (24) fingertight. (24) Remove the clamp (22) from the left TRAS track lock harness (3).
(25) Remove the bolt (25) and washers (26) and (27) that attach the left TRAS track lock harness (3) terminal lug to the torque box.
(26) Disconnect the left TRAS track lock harness (3) (4141KS-A) from the track lock valve with PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
(27) Remove the left TRAS track lock harness (3) from the torque box.
(28) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install all COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
