3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-30-10-860-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 78-30-10-420-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Install the forward crossover beam.
F Forward Crossover Beam ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Install the spacer (5), the bolt (4), the washer (3) and the nut (2).
   (2) TORQUE the nut (2) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in ) T.
   (3) Install the
AIPC 54-57-17-02-260 COTTER PIN (1).
Subtask 78-30-10-420-059-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Install the parts removed for access to the Crossover Beam.
   (1) Configuration 1 : Outboard T/R half not removed.
     (a) At the position No.1 of the T/R half hinge:
       1 Install the bolt (1) and the washer (11).
       2 Install the nut (10) to the bolt (1). Do not tighten the nut at this step.
     (b) At the position No.4 of the T/R half hinge:
       1 TORQUE the nut (6) to between 690 and 480 lbf.in (7.80 and 5.42 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
     (c) At the positions No.2 and No.3 of the T/R half hinge:
       1 TORQUE the nuts (8) to between 190 and 160 lbf.in (2.15 and 1.81 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
     (d) At the position No.1 of the T/R half hinge:
       1 TORQUE the nut (10) to between 190 and 160 lbf.in (2.15 and 1.81 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (2) Configuration 2 : Outboard T/R half removed.

C. Install the Outboard Fan Cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-010) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-16-400-010).
Subtask 78-30-10-420-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Install the Brace of the Outboard Fan Cowl and Thrust Reverser Halves.
   (1) Install the S889BH0 BRACE - HOLD OPEN COWLS or TMHBS13-00-00 BRACE-HOLD OPEN COWLS to support the fan and thrust reverser cowl doors.
   (2) Put the adjustable struts in position.
   (3) Adjust the length of the struts so that they hold the weight of the thrust reverser halves.
   (4) Put the thrust reverser half-open rods in their storage positions (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010).
   (5) Install the support arms so that they hold the weight of the fan cowl doors.
NOTE: The support arms must be installed so that the brackets are on the second latch from the front of the thrust reverser halves.
   (6) Put the fan cowl hold-open rods in their storage positions (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010).

E. Remove the thrust reverser sling and the slat protection mat
-For ENG 1
-For ENG 2
   (1) Remove the IAE1N20002 SLING-FAN THRUST REVERSER (1) from the thrust reverser half (3).
   (2) install the threaded fasteners in the hoist point nut plates.
   (3) Remove the slat protection mats from the slats.
   (4) Position the hinge access panel (2) on the thrust reverser half.
   (5) Attach the hinge access panel with the 11 screws (4).
   (6) Install the thrust reverser pylon fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-56-00-400-002).

F. Install the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-20-400-040).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
