B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance
Subtask 78-30-06-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.

Subtask 78-30-06-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Hinge Access Panels
(2) Install the hinge access panels (1) and (4) on the left thrust reverser, engine 1 as follow:
(a) Mix thePU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant (or as an alternative base primer (Material No.PU4-0002D) with curing solution (Material No.PU4-0009) ) with PU4-0004A curing solution, epoxy primer and thinner (Material No.PU4-0005) or thinner (Material No.PU4-0008) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(b) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (3).
(c) Put the aft hinge access panel 451EL (4) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(d) Make sure that the inner edge of the aft hinge access panel 451EL (4) is below the pylon fairing.
(e) Install the aft hinge access panel 451EL (4) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (3). Apply the mixture created in step (2)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (3).
(f) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
.
(g) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (2).
(h) Put the forward hinge access panel 451DL (1) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(i) Make sure that the inner edge of the forward hinge access panel 451DL (1) is below the pylon fairing.
(j) Install the forward hinge access panel 451DL (1) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (2). Apply the mixture created in step (2)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (2).
(k) TORQUE the bolts (2) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
.
(3) Install the hinge access panels (12) and (14) on the right thrust reverser, engine 1 as follow:
(a) Mix thePU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant (or as an alternative base primer (Material No.PU4-0002D) with curing solution (Material No.PU4-0009) ) with PU4-0004A curing solution, epoxy primer and thinner (Material No.PU4-0005) or thinner (Material No.PU4-0008) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(b) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (11).
(c) Put the aft hinge access panel 452ER (12) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(d) Make sure that the inner edge of the aft hinge access panel 452ER (12) is below the pylon fairing.
(e) Install the aft hinge access panel 452ER (12) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (11). Apply the mixture created in step (3)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (11).
(f) TORQUE the bolts (11) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
.
(g) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (13).
(h) Put the forward hinge access panel 452DR (14) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(i) Make sure that the inner edge of the forward hinge access panel 452DR (14) is below the pylon fairing.
(j) Install the forward hinge access panel 452DR (14) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (13). Apply the mixture created in step (3)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (13).
(k) TORQUE the bolts (13) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )

(4) Install the hinge access panels (21) and (24) on the left thrust reverser, engine 2 as follow:
(a) Mix thePU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant (or as an alternative base primer (Material No.PU4-0002D) and curing solution (Material No.PU4-0009) ) with PU4-0004A curing solution, epoxy primer and thinner (Material No.PU4-0005) or thinner (Material No.PU4-0008) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(b) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (23).
(c) Put the aft hinge access panel 461EL (24) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(d) Make sure that the inner edge of the aft hinge access panel 461EL (24) is below the pylon fairing.
(e) Install the aft hinge access panel 461EL (24) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (23). Apply the mixture created in step (4)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (23).
(f) TORQUE the bolts (23) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )

(g) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (22).
(h) Put the forward hinge access panel 461DL (21) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(i) Make sure that the inner edge of the forward hinge access panel 461DL (21) is below the pylon fairing.
(j) Install the forward hinge access panel 461DL (21) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (22). Apply the mixture created in step (4)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (22).
(k) TORQUE the bolts (22) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )

(5) Install the hinge access panels (32) and (34) on the right thrust reverser, engine 2 as follow:
(a) Mix thePU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant (or as an alternative base primer (Material No.PU4-0002D) and curing solution (Material No.PU4-0009) ) with PU4-0004A curing solution, epoxy primer and thinner (Material No.PU4-0005) or thinner (Material No.PU4-0008) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(b) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (31).
(c) Put the aft hinge access panel 462ER (32) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(d) Make sure that the inner edge of the aft hinge access panel 462ER (32) is below the pylon fairing.
(e) Install the aft hinge access panel 462ER (32) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (31). Apply the mixture created in step (5)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (31).
(f) TORQUE the bolts (31) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
.
(g) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (33).
(h) Put the forward hinge access panel 462DR (34) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(i) Make sure that the inner edge of the forward hinge access panel 462DR (34) is below the pylon fairing.
(j) Install the forward hinge access panel 462DR (34) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (33). Apply the mixture created in step (5)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (33).
(k) TORQUE the bolts (33) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
.
5. Close-upCAUTION:
WHEN YOU INSTALL THE HINGE ACCESS PANELS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU PUT THE INNER EDGE OF THE HINGE ACCESS PANEL BELOW THE PYLON FAIRING. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE HINGE ACCESS PANEL AND THE PYLON WILL OCCUR WHEN YOU OPEN THE THRUST REVERSER.
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Removal of the protection covers:CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Install the hinge access panels (1) and (4) on the left thrust reverser, engine 1 as follow:

(b) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (3).
(c) Put the aft hinge access panel 451EL (4) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(d) Make sure that the inner edge of the aft hinge access panel 451EL (4) is below the pylon fairing.
(e) Install the aft hinge access panel 451EL (4) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (3). Apply the mixture created in step (2)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (3).
(f) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
. (g) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (2).
(h) Put the forward hinge access panel 451DL (1) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(i) Make sure that the inner edge of the forward hinge access panel 451DL (1) is below the pylon fairing.
(j) Install the forward hinge access panel 451DL (1) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (2). Apply the mixture created in step (2)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (2).
(k) TORQUE the bolts (2) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
. (3) Install the hinge access panels (12) and (14) on the right thrust reverser, engine 1 as follow:

(c) Put the aft hinge access panel 452ER (12) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(d) Make sure that the inner edge of the aft hinge access panel 452ER (12) is below the pylon fairing.
(e) Install the aft hinge access panel 452ER (12) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (11). Apply the mixture created in step (3)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (11).
(f) TORQUE the bolts (11) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
. (g) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (13).
(h) Put the forward hinge access panel 452DR (14) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(i) Make sure that the inner edge of the forward hinge access panel 452DR (14) is below the pylon fairing.
(j) Install the forward hinge access panel 452DR (14) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (13). Apply the mixture created in step (3)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (13).
(k) TORQUE the bolts (13) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
. (4) Install the hinge access panels (21) and (24) on the left thrust reverser, engine 2 as follow:

(c) Put the aft hinge access panel 461EL (24) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(d) Make sure that the inner edge of the aft hinge access panel 461EL (24) is below the pylon fairing.
(e) Install the aft hinge access panel 461EL (24) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (23). Apply the mixture created in step (4)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (23).
(f) TORQUE the bolts (23) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
. (g) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (22).
(h) Put the forward hinge access panel 461DL (21) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(i) Make sure that the inner edge of the forward hinge access panel 461DL (21) is below the pylon fairing.
(j) Install the forward hinge access panel 461DL (21) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (22). Apply the mixture created in step (4)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (22).
(k) TORQUE the bolts (22) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
. (5) Install the hinge access panels (32) and (34) on the right thrust reverser, engine 2 as follow:

(b) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (31).
(c) Put the aft hinge access panel 462ER (32) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(d) Make sure that the inner edge of the aft hinge access panel 462ER (32) is below the pylon fairing.
(e) Install the aft hinge access panel 462ER (32) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (31). Apply the mixture created in step (5)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (31).
(f) TORQUE the bolts (31) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
. (g) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the bolts (33).
(h) Put the forward hinge access panel 462DR (34) in the correct position on the thrust reverser hinge beam.
(i) Make sure that the inner edge of the forward hinge access panel 462DR (34) is below the pylon fairing.
(j) Install the forward hinge access panel 462DR (34) on the thrust reverser hinge beam with the 11 bolts (33). Apply the mixture created in step (5)(a) to the fastener holes to wet install the bolts (33).
(k) TORQUE the bolts (33) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )

A. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser system after ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-805).
