A. Examine the Rub Blocks on the Common Nozzle Assembly
(1) Make sure that the rub blocks are cleanCMM 781111 .
(2) Examine the rub blocks for cracks using MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X.
(a) If there is an evidence of crack, reject the rub block. Replace or remove as necessary, refer toNSRM 544000 repair 10, rub block repair (VRS2140).
(b) If there is no evidence of crack, accept it.
(3) Examine the rub blocks for wear. Measure the remaining thickness of the rub block using MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X.
(a) Refer toNSRM 544000 common nozzle assembly allowable damage. Replace as necessary, refer to NSRM 544000 repair 10 (VRS2140).
(4) Examine for missing rub blocks. Refer to View A-A.
(a) For SNs 8137001 through 10606001 it is acceptable to have twenty rub blocks. If service bulletin V2500-NAC-78-0242 has been performed then thirty-six rub blocks are required. For all other SNs thirty-six rub blocks are required.
(b) It is recommended to perform Service Bulletin V2500-NAC-78-0242 if the number of rub blocks is less than thirty-six.
(c) Check for plugged holes or open holes between existing rub blocks. If found replace rub block, refer toNSRM 544000 repair 10 or Service Bulletin V2500-NAC-78-0242.
