C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) If necessary, put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

E. Remove the aft centerbody assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-03-000-801).
4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Forward Centerbody Assembly
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE FORWARD CENTERBODY IS SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED DURING REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION. THE FORWARD CENTERBODY WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 12.0 LB (5.44 KG). IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Remove the 20 bolts (1), the 20 washers (3) and the 20 nuts (4) that attach the forward centerbody assembly (2) to the turbine exhaust case.
   (2) Remove the forward centerbody assembly (2).
   (3) Put the forward centerbody assembly (2) on the 636-4000-22GSE EXHAUST DOLLY. Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
   (4) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install the COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
