A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton is off.
(b) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 77-21-43-010-073-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On maintenance panel 50VU:

4. ProcedureWARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) is deactivated (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). (2) Make sure that the thrust reverser halves are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010)

A. Installation of the EGT Junction Box
(a) Install the EGT junction box on the bracket (17) on the Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC).
(b) ApplyV10-077 lubricant (engine oil) to the threads of the bolts (12).
(c) Install the bolts (12) and the nuts (10) which hold the junction box to the bracket.
(d) TORQUE the bolts to between 95 and 85 lbf.in (1.07 and 0.96 m.daN )
.
Subtask 77-21-43-420-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: For more information about the minimum clearance allowed, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 70-71-01-00).
(1) Install the EGT junction box on the bracket (17). (a) Install the EGT junction box on the bracket (17) on the Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC).
(b) Apply
(c) Install the bolts (12) and the nuts (10) which hold the junction box to the bracket.
(d) TORQUE the bolts to between 95 and 85 lbf.in (1.07 and 0.96 m.daN )
. NOTE: It is recommended to install the EGT harness (left and right) after installing the EGT junction box.
B. Installation of the Right EGT Harness
(1) Install the right EGT harness on to the EGT thermocouple.
(b) Attach the harness lugs to the thermocouple connections.
(c) Installation of the washers and the nuts
(d) Tightening of the nuts
.
2 TORQUE the chromel (smaller) nuts (28) to between 18 and 15 lbf.in (0.20 and 0.17 m.daN )
.
(2) Install the right EGT harness on the EGT junction box
(a) Remove the four nuts (15) and disconnect the left EGT harness and EGT core harness (16) from the EGT junction box terminals.
(b) Install the harness (left, right and core) to the junction box terminals.
(c) Installation of the nuts
(d) Do a run-on test torque test as follows:
1 Use a torque wrench with a resolution of 1 lbf.in (0.01 m.daN).
2 Run the nut onto the stud until fingertight, so that the locking thread is in contact with the stud thread:
a The minimum run-on torque for the smaller thread diameter nut must be 1.5 lbf.in (0.02 m.daN).
b The maximum run-on torque for the smaller thread diameter nut must be 9 lbf.in (0.10 m.daN).
c The minimum run-on torque for the larger thread diameter nut must be 2 lbf.in (0.02 m.daN).
d The maximum run-on torque for the larger thread diameter nut must be 13 lbf.in (0.15 m.daN).
3 Use the WRENCH - TORQUE to measure the torque necessary to run down the nut to the stud shoulder and make a record of this figure.
4 If the nut does not meet the run down torque requirement, use a new nut and do the test again.
5 If the second nut does not meet the run down torque requirement, replace the stud.
(e) TORQUE the alumel (larger) nuts to between 30 and 25 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.28 m.daN )
.
(f) TORQUE the chromel (smaller) nuts to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
.
(g) Attach the half-loop clamps (41) to secure the EGT harness to the junction box. Position the drip loops on the top of the clamp and secure with the screws (42).
(h) TORQUE the screws (42) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
. Safety the screws with lockwire (Material No.V02-127) .
(i) Install the junction box cover (14) and secure it with the four screws (13).
(j) TORQUE the screws (13) to between 22 and 16 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.18 m.daN )
.
(k) Installation of the lockwire
(3) Attach the right EGT harness at the flange T and the flange P brackets.
(a) Install the harness clamps to the brackets (3) and (25) on the flange P on the left side of the engine. Attach the clamps with the bolts (4), (24) and the nuts (2), (26).
(b) Install the harness clamps to the brackets (19) on the boss of the case at the 6 o'clock position and secure with the bolts (18).
(c) Install the harness clamp to the brackets (9) on the flange T and secure with the nuts (8).
(d) Attach the clamps at the 8 o'clock position on the harness to the clamp (7) on the P4.9 manifold and attach them with the bolt (6) and the nut (5).
(e) TORQUE all the harness clamp bolts to between 45 and 36 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.41 m.daN )

Subtask 77-21-43-420-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the right EGT harness on to the EGT thermocouple.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT THE TERMINAL LUG IS ALIGNED AND DOES NOT TOUCH THE INNER SURFACE OF THE COWL WHEN IT IS TIGHTENED TO PREVENT THE EGT HARNESS FROM BEING WORN-OUT WITH THE COWL.
(a) Remove the two nuts (28), the two nuts (30), the two washers (29) and the two washers (31) from the thermocouple connection at 2 locations. (b) Attach the harness lugs to the thermocouple connections.
(c) Installation of the washers and the nuts
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE LUBRICATION ON THREADS OF THERMOCOUPLE CONNECTIONS. ENGINE OIL CAN CONTAMINATE EGT HARNESS INSULATION MATERIAL AND RESULT IN ERRATIC OR UNRELIABLE EGT INDICATION.
1 Install the washers and the nuts. (d) Tightening of the nuts
CAUTION:
DO NOT TIGHTEN NUTS MORE THAN MAXIMUM TORQUE. TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN DAMAGE THE THERMOCOUPLE STUDS AND RESULT IN ERRATIC OR UNRELIABLE EGT INDICATION.
1 TORQUE the alumel (larger) nuts (30) to between 22 and 18 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.20 m.daN )
. 2 TORQUE the chromel (smaller) nuts (28) to between 18 and 15 lbf.in (0.20 and 0.17 m.daN )
. (2) Install the right EGT harness on the EGT junction box
(a) Remove the four nuts (15) and disconnect the left EGT harness and EGT core harness (16) from the EGT junction box terminals.
(b) Install the harness (left, right and core) to the junction box terminals.
(c) Installation of the nuts
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE LUBRICATION ON THREADS OF THERMOCOUPLE CONNECTIONS. ENGINE OIL CAN CONTAMINATE EGT HARNESS INSULATION MATERIAL AND RESULT IN ERRATIC OR UNRELIABLE EGT INDICATION.

ONCE A NEW STYLE NUT IS INSTALLED ONTO THE MATING STUD, YOU MUST NOT INSTALL AN OLD NUT ON THAT STUD.
1 Install the nuts to the junction box terminals. (d) Do a run-on test torque test as follows:
1 Use a torque wrench with a resolution of 1 lbf.in (0.01 m.daN).
2 Run the nut onto the stud until fingertight, so that the locking thread is in contact with the stud thread:
a The minimum run-on torque for the smaller thread diameter nut must be 1.5 lbf.in (0.02 m.daN).
b The maximum run-on torque for the smaller thread diameter nut must be 9 lbf.in (0.10 m.daN).

USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
1 Safety the screws with lockwire (Material No.V02-127) . (3) Attach the right EGT harness at the flange T and the flange P brackets.
(a) Install the harness clamps to the brackets (3) and (25) on the flange P on the left side of the engine. Attach the clamps with the bolts (4), (24) and the nuts (2), (26).
(b) Install the harness clamps to the brackets (19) on the boss of the case at the 6 o'clock position and secure with the bolts (18).
(c) Install the harness clamp to the brackets (9) on the flange T and secure with the nuts (8).
(d) Attach the clamps at the 8 o'clock position on the harness to the clamp (7) on the P4.9 manifold and attach them with the bolt (6) and the nut (5).
(e) TORQUE all the harness clamp bolts to between 45 and 36 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.41 m.daN )
. C. Installation of the Left EGT Harness
(1) Install the left EGT harness on to the EGT thermocouple.
(b) Attach the harness lugs to the thermocouple connections.
(c) Installation of the washers and the nuts
(d) Tightening of the nuts

2 TORQUE the chromel (smaller) nuts (28) to between 18 and 15 lbf.in (0.20 and 0.17 m.daN )

(2) Install the left EGT harness on the EGT junction box
(a) Remove the four nuts (15) and disconnect the left EGT harness and EGT core harness (16) from the EGT junction box terminals.

(b) Install the harness clamps to the brackets (19) on the boss of the case at the 6 o'clock position and secure with the bolts (18).
(c) Install the harness clamp to the brackets (9) on the flange T and secure with the nuts (8).
(d) Attach the clamps at the 4 o'clock position on the harness to the clamp (7) on the P4.9 manifold and attach them with the bolt (6) and the nut (5).
(e) TORQUE all the harness clamp bolts to between 45 and 36 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.41 m.daN )

Subtask 77-21-43-942-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the left EGT harness on to the EGT thermocouple.
CAUTION:

CAUTION:
DO NOT TIGHTEN NUTS MORE THAN MAXIMUM TORQUE. TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN DAMAGE THE THERMOCOUPLE STUDS AND RESULT IN ERRATIC OR UNRELIABLE EGT INDICATION.

(d) Attach the clamps at the 4 o'clock position on the harness to the clamp (7) on the P4.9 manifold and attach them with the bolt (6) and the nut (5).
(e) TORQUE all the harness clamp bolts to between 45 and 36 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.41 m.daN )
. D. Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
Subtask 77-21-43-710-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL E. Test Requirements
(1) Do an operational test of the FADEC (Ref. AMM TASK 73-22-00-710-040) and check on CFDS if no fault is present concerning the EGT harness.
(2) Do an idle leak check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-012).
(3) On the upper ECAM DU, make sure that the EGT indication is available.
5. Close-up(1) Do an operational test of the FADEC (Ref. AMM TASK 73-22-00-710-040) and check on CFDS if no fault is present concerning the EGT harness.
(2) Do an idle leak check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-012).
(3) On the upper ECAM DU, make sure that the EGT indication is available.
