A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

C. Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
4. Procedure
Subtask 77-21-10-420-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Lower Left (L/H) Thermocouple Lead Assembly (Lower Left T495 Sector)

SB CFM 72-0473

   (1) Identify if not done before the repair by marking the service bulletin number CFM56-5B 72-0473 on the locally manufactured washer SPM 701012350005.

   (2) Remove PLUG - BLANKING and CAP - BLANKING.
   (3) Lubricate the threads of the LPT case studs (30) with Molykote P37 (Material No.CP2544) .
NOTE: For engine with EGT sensor (thermocouple) probe brackets repaired, SB 72-0473, a bolt replaces one stud missing and one nut (10) on each bracket.
   (4) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (60), (70), (120), (150) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
   (5) Carefully install the lower left T495 sector (20) in position on the engine, and engage the lower left T495 sector probes in the LPT case.
   (6) Install the parts which attach the lower left T495 sector as follows:

     (a) Install the nuts (10) on the studs (30) on LPT case, between the 7 and 8:15 o'clock positions (Detail B).

POST SB CFM 72-0473

     (b) Install the bolt (65) on the holes threaded of the EGT sensor (thermocouple) probe brakets, on LPT case, at the 7 and 8:15 o'clock positions (Detail B).
     (c) Install the nuts and the washer on the stud. Take care to set the plate of the specific washers turned to head of the bolts with the number engraved at the top.

     (d) Install the clamp (50) on the bracket (40) on flange S, at the 8:30 o'clock position (Detail C).
     (e) Install the bolt (60).
     (f) Install the bolt(70) on flange S, at the 8 o'clock position (Detail D).
     (g) Install the bracket (90) and the nuts (80).
     (h) Install the lower extension lead (100) on the bracket (90) on the lower left T49.5 sector (20) junction box at the 8 o'clock position (Detail D).
     (i) Install the clamp (110) and the bolt (120).
     (j) Install the clamp (160) on the bracket (140), on flange S, at the 7:30 o'clock position (Detail E).
     (k) Install the bolt (150).

PRE SB CFM 72-0473

   (7) TORQUE the nuts (10), (80) to between 110 and 100 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.13 m.daN ) T.

POST SB CFM 72-0473

   (8) TORQUE the nuts (10) to between 110 and 98 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.11 m.daN )

   (9) TORQUE the bolts to between 110 and 100 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.13 m.daN )
T.
   (10) TORQUE the nuts (80) to between 110 and 100 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.13 m.daN )
T.
   (11) Lock the bolts by a lockwire engaged through the head holes and attached to the locally manufactured washers.

   (12) TORQUE the bolts (60), (120) and (150) to between 53 and 47 lbf.in (0.60 and 0.53 m.daN )
T.
   (13) Make sure that the connectors and receptacles are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
   (14) Connect the main junction box lead connector (130) to the lower left T495 sector junction box (parallel junction box) (20).
   (15) TORQUE the connecting nut to between 186 and 168 lbf.in (2.10 and 1.90 m.daN )
T and safety with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
