1. Reason for the Job
This TASK gives the procedure to change over the N1 rotational speed indicating probe harness leads at the terminal block. This procedure is necessary when one of the fan speed probes becomes unserviceable.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

E. Loosen the hose clamp (1) and disconnect the air inlet hose (2) from the air inlet upper fitting

A. Disconnect the two harness leads from the terminals on the terminal block.

(1) If the fan speed probe No. 1 is unserviceable, disconnect the harness leads No. 1 (400VS-1) and No.2 (400VS-2) from the terminals No.1 and No.2.
(2) If the fan speed probe No.3 is unserviceable, disconnect the harness leads No. 5 (400VS-5) and No.6 (400VS-6) from the terminals No.5 and No.6.

B. Connect the harness leads to the spare terminals No.3 and No.4.
(1) IF the fan speed probe No. 1 is unserviceable, connect the harness lead No. 1 (400VS-1) to the terminal No.3 and the harness lead No.2 (400VS-2) to the terminal No. 4

(2) If the fan speed probe No. 3 is unserviceable, connect the harness lead No. 5 (400VS-5) to the terminal No. 3 and the harness lead No. 6 (400VS-6) to the terminal No. 4.

(3) Safety the harness leads with the nuts (11) and the washers (12).
TORQUE the nuts to between 26 and 20 lbf.in (0.29 and 0.23 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
5. Close-up(1) IF the fan speed probe No. 1 is unserviceable, connect the harness lead No. 1 (400VS-1) to the terminal No.3 and the harness lead No.2 (400VS-2) to the terminal No. 4

A. Connect the air inlet hose (2) to the connections of the air inlet fitting and put the hose clamp (1) into position.
Tighten the hose clamp by hand.

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the thrust reverser half (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010):
