A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 75-22-41-010-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
B. Get Access

(1) Make sure that the air inlet and outlet pipe mating faces on the air cooler are not damaged.
(2) Make sure that the air inlet and outlet ducts are not damaged.

(2) Make sure that the air inlet and outlet ducts are not damaged.
E. Install the air ducts on to the air cooler
(1) Put the air inlet duct in position on the air cooler and install the bolts (13) and nuts (12).
(2) Put the air outlet duct in position on the air cooler and install the bolts (10) and nuts (11).
(3) TORQUE the nuts (11) and (12) to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN )

Subtask 75-22-41-210-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the air inlet duct in position on the air cooler and install the bolts (13) and nuts (12).
(2) Put the air outlet duct in position on the air cooler and install the bolts (10) and nuts (11).
(3) TORQUE the nuts (11) and (12) to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013)F. Make sure that the attachment flanges on the air tubes (4) and (8) are not damaged.
Subtask 75-22-41-630-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL G. Remove caps from all openings.
4. ProcedureSubtask 75-22-41-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the no. 4 bearing compartment air cooler
(1) Attach the air cooler assembly to the engine case.
(a) Put the air cooler in position on the three brackets on the engine case.
(b) Install the spacers (2), (5) and (8), bolts (1), (6) and (9) and the nuts (3), (4) and (7).
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(d) Measure dimension A. It must be between 2 mm (0.08 in.) and 3 mm (0.12 in.).
(2) Connect the air tubes to the air cooler
(a) Install a new AIPC 75-22-41-80-170 GASKET (7) on the air tube (8) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
(b) Align the tube with the air cooler connection and install the bolts (9).
(c) Install a new AIPC 75-22-41-80-170 GASKET (5) on the air tube (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(d) Align the tube with the air cooler connection and install the washer (6), the brackets (2) and (3) and the bolts (1).
(e) TORQUE the bolts (1) and (9) to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN )

(3) Install the air outlet duct
(a) Install the AIPC 75-22-41-80-030 SEAL (3) on the air cooler (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
(b) Put the air outlet duct (2) in position.
(c) Install the clamp (1).
(d) TORQUE the clamp to the value shown on the coupling retainer (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
5. Close-up(1) Attach the air cooler assembly to the engine case.
(a) Put the air cooler in position on the three brackets on the engine case.
(b) Install the spacers (2), (5) and (8), bolts (1), (6) and (9) and the nuts (3), (4) and (7).
NOTE: The inner diameter of the mount lug bore can be different from the spacer outer diameter. A difference of not more than 0.99 mm (0.039 in.) on the air inlet duct (spacers (2) and (5)) is acceptable, if the bore of the mount lug is less than 10.54 mm (0.41 in.) on the air inlet duct. A difference of not more than 1.65 mm (0.065 in.) on the air outlet duct (spacer (8)) is acceptable, if the bore of the mount lug is less than 11.2 mm (0.44 in.) on the air outlet duct.
(c) TORQUE the nuts to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (d) Measure dimension A. It must be between 2 mm (0.08 in.) and 3 mm (0.12 in.).
(2) Connect the air tubes to the air cooler
(a) Install a new AIPC 75-22-41-80-170 GASKET (7) on the air tube (8) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
(b) Align the tube with the air cooler connection and install the bolts (9).
(c) Install a new AIPC 75-22-41-80-170 GASKET (5) on the air tube (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(d) Align the tube with the air cooler connection and install the washer (6), the brackets (2) and (3) and the bolts (1).
(e) TORQUE the bolts (1) and (9) to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013)(3) Install the air outlet duct
(a) Install the AIPC 75-22-41-80-030 SEAL (3) on the air cooler (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
(b) Put the air outlet duct (2) in position.
(c) Install the clamp (1).
(d) TORQUE the clamp to the value shown on the coupling retainer (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010):
