A. Visually inspect the P4.9 (P5) sensing system for damage and/or leaks as follows:
(1) Make sure all the tube connections are not loose.
(2) Make sure that the tubes are not visibly cracked or broken.
(3) Make sure that the tubes are not chafed through at clamping locations.
(4) Make sure that the brackets which support the clamp assemblies are not cracked, broken, or loose.
(5) Make sure that the P4.9 (P5) flexible line that is attached to the P4.9 (P5) pressure inlet port on the EEC is not damaged or frayed.

(5) Make sure that the P4.9 (P5) flexible line that is attached to the P4.9 (P5) pressure inlet port on the EEC is not damaged or frayed.
B. If you find damage, correct as necessary and continue with the procedure.
Subtask 73-22-51-480-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL C. Connect the NITROGEN COMPRESSED SOURCE - GROUND as follows.
(1) Find the end of the P4.9 (P5) flexible line which is connected to the P4.9 (P5) pressure inlet port at the bottom of the EEC.
(2) Removal of the lockwire.
(3) Disconnect the P4.9 (P5) line from the EEC P4.9 (P5) inlet.
(4) Install the AN6-AN4 reducer fitting to the open end of the P4.9 (P5) flexible line.
(5) Adjust the regulator valve on the portable gas source to 0 psig (0 kPa).
(6) Connect the hose from the portable gas source to the AN6-AN4 reducer fitting.
(7) Supply 30 psig (308.1 kPa) to the P4.9 (P5) system by the NITROGEN COMPRESSED SOURCE - GROUND.

(2) Removal of the lockwire.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Remove the lockwire from the B-nut fitting on the P4.9 (P5) flexible line at the EEC inlet.
NOTE: The 30 psig (308.1 kPa) must be constantly supplied throughout the leak/flow check procedure.
D. Do a flow check of the P4.9 (P5) system as follows:
(1) While 30 psig (308.1 kPa) is applied to the P4.9 (P5) system, get access to the Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC) strut numbers 4, 7, and 10 (located at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions) through the common nozzle assembly at the rear of the engine.
(2) Put your bare hands over each one of the TEC struts individually and check for noticeable airflow coming out of the strut at the orifices (8 locations per strut) on the strut itself. Airflow through the struts must be easily found.
(3) If you find no airflow in any of the TEC struts, inspect the P4.9 (P5) tube assembly for blockages or leaks, and correct as applicable.

E. Do a leak check of the P4.9 (P5) system as follows:
(1) With 30 psig (308.1 kPa) applied, use Leak Check Fluid (Material No.V10-045) on all interfacing locations on the external plumbing between the air source at the P4.9 (P5) flexible line and the inlet of the P4.9 (P5) sense line at the TEC.
(3) Fix leaks in fittings by torquing or tightening the fittings to the limits specified in the engine manual. If you found leaks elsewhere such as the tube body or flange interface at the TEC, remove and replace hardware as necessary.
5. Close-up(1) With 30 psig (308.1 kPa) applied, use Leak Check Fluid (Material No.V10-045) on all interfacing locations on the external plumbing between the air source at the P4.9 (P5) flexible line and the inlet of the P4.9 (P5) sense line at the TEC.
NOTE: The Leak Check Fluid (Material No.V10-045) must be applied to the outside edge of the flange.
(2) If you find a leak during this process, remove all pressure from the P4.9 (P5) system before troubleshooting. (3) Fix leaks in fittings by torquing or tightening the fittings to the limits specified in the engine manual. If you found leaks elsewhere such as the tube body or flange interface at the TEC, remove and replace hardware as necessary.
