Installation of the PS3 Line
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 73-21-75-010-051-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
Subtask 73-21-75-420-050-A
A. Installation of the PS3 Line
(1) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from all the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Lubrication of the coupling nuts threads
(3) Install the five clamps (5), (8), (10), (12) and (14) on the PS3 line (1).
(4) Install the PS3 line (1) in the correct position.
(5) Install the bolt (4) and the nut (3) on the clamp (5) and tighten them with your hand.
(6) Install the bolt (7) and the nut (6) on the clamp (8) and tighten them with your hand.
(7) Install the bolt (9) on the clamp (10) and tighten it with your hand.
(8) Install the bolt (11) on the clamp (12) and tighten it with your hand.
(9) Install the bolt (13) on the clamp (14) and tighten it with your hand.
(10) Connect the coupling nut (2) of the PS3 line (1) to the pressure sub-system box-nipple (16) and tighten it with your hand.
(11) Connect the coupling nut (2) of the PS3 line (1) to the air duct (15) and tighten it with your hand.
(12) Torquing of the coupling nuts

(13) Safety the coupling nuts (2).
CP8006 safety cable 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. .
(b) Attach the second coupling nut (2) to the air duct (15) withCP8006 safety cable 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. .
(14) TORQUE the three bolts (9), (11) and (13) to between 46.2 and 41.8 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.47 m.daN )

(15) TORQUE the two nuts (3) and (6) to between 46.2 and 41.8 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.47 m.daN )
.
5. Close-up(1) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from all the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Lubrication of the coupling nuts threads
WARNING:
USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
(a) Lubricate the threads of the two coupling nuts (2) of the PS3 line (1) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) . (3) Install the five clamps (5), (8), (10), (12) and (14) on the PS3 line (1).
(4) Install the PS3 line (1) in the correct position.
(5) Install the bolt (4) and the nut (3) on the clamp (5) and tighten them with your hand.
(6) Install the bolt (7) and the nut (6) on the clamp (8) and tighten them with your hand.
(7) Install the bolt (9) on the clamp (10) and tighten it with your hand.
(8) Install the bolt (11) on the clamp (12) and tighten it with your hand.
(9) Install the bolt (13) on the clamp (14) and tighten it with your hand.
(10) Connect the coupling nut (2) of the PS3 line (1) to the pressure sub-system box-nipple (16) and tighten it with your hand.
(11) Connect the coupling nut (2) of the PS3 line (1) to the air duct (15) and tighten it with your hand.
(12) Torquing of the coupling nuts
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT. USE ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE FITTING AND THE OTHER TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT. IF YOU DO NOT USE TWO WRENCHES, DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(a) TORQUE the two coupling nuts (2) to between 300 and 270 lbf.in (3.39 and 3.05 m.daN )
. (13) Safety the coupling nuts (2).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Attach the first coupling nut (2) to the pressure sub-system box (16) with (b) Attach the second coupling nut (2) to the air duct (15) with
(14) TORQUE the three bolts (9), (11) and (13) to between 46.2 and 41.8 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.47 m.daN )

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
